When people heard about these defenders, some thought that they could finally use a weapon in the shield place...when used people found out that it was useless and it had only acted as a shield

 

 

 

Well let me tell u these advantages to using these defenders

Most people don't care about the their def stats in the game since barrows give alot...the rune defenders give half of obby shields def but also gives some attack bonuses, these bonuses can help u in the accuracy and the rune defender gives +5 str just like obby shield[/img][/url]

Only downside is the fact that it's ranged defense is 68 lower than that on the obby shield. I'd probably use it in melee vs. melee fights though.

Yeah, I suggest you wait it out.. Right now going in there is a waste of tokens.

might as well as stock up on tokens while everyone else is just in "Rush" to get defenders.

 

 

 

im sure that defenders will prove useful while pkin, and help with training...i wonder if they are tradable?

thats like 65 65...its pretty low lvls already to get in there...

How are the monsters in there for combat training? Decent exp or no?

they are extremely easy to kill...and their hp is not that high but i think around 50 or 60

I will use the rune defender cause i dont care that much about defence i care about the attack and stuff but i know it has like 68 ranging defence lower then the obby shield. I myself rarely fight a monster who ranges me , and i am not a pker so this is perfect for me i wonder... dragon defender....

Somebody posts some of the stats of the cyclops here. What level are they, a picture would be nice and ofcourse other drops and best way to defeat them. Are they good experience? Or a waist of tokens to train on?

Yeah...because I got my steel defender the FIRST kill after I got back in from showing the lady my iron defender.

 

 

 

Just luck...no ring of wealth btw, seems to work for me.

Think of it this way...

 

 

 

Party Hats: Symbol of Wealth

 

Whip: Symbol of lesser Wealth

 

Dharoks: Symbol of Power

 

Defender: Symbol of Hard Work

 

 

 

Since people have to work to get THEIR OWN defender, rather than being able to buy it easy, it is a true symbol of someone who has really tried to get it. And in the process of getting it, they probably gained a combat level in the process.

 

 

 

Now think of this... if you're using an Abyssal Whip, and you have everything equipped that would increase your Attack Bonuses to the max... you'd end up with around +130 to +140 Slash bonus. That's about what Full Rune turns out to be in Castle Wars (minus the helmet of course). That would give you a HUGE advantage there because you'd be hitting them a heck of a lot more often.

 

 

 

I find it funny how everyone looks at an items Strength bonus and then goes "That's worthless" or "That's the best update ever!" When you look at when Barrows were first released, Dharoks was originally more expensive than Guthans, until people realized the potential Guthans had. I'm just kinda afraid of what will come out next relating to off-handed weapons. Maybe we'll come across off-handed shields next. A shield with [bleep]es on the front of it, with a "Charge" attack where you lung at your enemy... *Zips off to Suggestions Forum*

Now looking at the image posted above, maybe it would only be around +120... So let me go through items that would give bonuses...
