1. do u do weed

2. what do you think of it

3. why do you do it

4. should it be legalized

5. how or who did u get introduced to it by

for me

1. sometimes

2.i think its a good way to have fun if your at a party or to have a good time with your good friends

3. i do it because sometimes i feel like it or i am very upset

4. i think it should be becuz it would help out our law enforcement they would have to worry about other thigns besides weed and pot busts. its also used as a medicine prescribed by a doctor for some extreme pains they will give it to you in pill or very rarely plant form.

5. i was introduced to it by my friends

plz post ur thoughts and be respondsible

1. I used to do weed, but I quit about a year ago.

2. I thought it was great. Still want to do it sometimes.

3. It helped me forget about my problems. I smoked for about 3 years. During that time, I was going through alot. Weed helped me forget about it, and I guess made the load easier. But, in the end it wasn't worth it. The downs weren't worth the highs.

4. I have no problem with it being legalized.

5. I was introduced to it by a friend of mine who knew I was having problems. She told me it helped her, so I decided to see if it would help me.

My school has a HUGE drug problem. I saw (and still see) kids dropping out just to smoke more weed. I realized that I had ambitions and I didn't want to be like that. Getting high was great, but coming down was like a plane crash for me. That's why I quit.

1. Never done it and I don't plan on doing it.

2. I think it's pretty bad. The effects of weed are worse than the effects of alchohol. Many people die because they do stupid stuff when they are intoxicated by weed. Lastly, it's a gateway drug. People who smoke weed are many times more likely to get introduced and addicted to other drugs such as meth and cocaine.

3. I don't.

4. No, it should not be legalized. It would not help out our law enforcement because they would be worrying about the people who are doing stupid stuff while intoxicated. People drive while smoking pot and that gets very dangerous. If you legalize it, stuff like that will only happen more frequently. Also, people have done things like robbing a store or even killing because they didn't make correct choices while smoking weed. Finally, the health risks of weed are many times that of a cigarette. Smoking one joint of weed can equal that of smoking an entire pack of cigarettes. Weed can also be laced with harmful chemicals. As for medical reasons, the cons outweigh the pros.

5. I don't do it so I didn't exactly get introduced to it.

1. No, I'm not a complete moron.

2. I think that 'weed', along with every other illegal drug, is a terrible thing.

3. Cuz' it makes me cool. :wall:

4. Of course not. There is obviously a reason it is illegal.

5. Anyone who introduces someone else to illegal drugs is a very horrible person.

Ghost: I am prejudice towards ignorance, so that would explain why I appear to be so.

No just look at people living on the street freezing in card board boxes freezing because all their money goes to weed. Many people die and O D from it. It is wrong and people the use it should be punished more severly.

  • Author

in order to O D you have to like smoke an ounce+ in 1 sitting

No just look at people living on the street freezing in card board boxes freezing because all their money goes to weed. Many people die and O D from it.

You are an idiot because you know nothing about what you're talking about and make things up that you think will strengthen your argument.

Give some evidence that ONE PERSON has died from smoking marijuana. Here's evidence of THE ONLY PERSON whose death was ruled by a coroner to be from smoking marijuana - as you will notice it is then refuted by medical experts who say the evidence wasn't good enough:

There has only ever been one recorded verdict of fatal overdose due to cannabis. In January 2004, Lee Maisey of Pembrokeshire, Wales was found dead. The coroner's report stated "Death due to probable cannabis toxicity". It had been reported that Maisey smoked about six joints a day. Mr. Maisey's blood contained 130 nanograms per milliliter (ng/ml) of the THC metabolite THC-COOH. However, the validity of the finding did not stand up well under review. As reported on 28 January 2004 in the Neue ZÃÆÃâÃâüricher Zeitung, the Federal Health Ministry of Switzerland asked Dr. Rudolf Brenneisen, a professor at the department for clinical research at the University of Bern, to review the data of this case. Dr. Brenneisen said that the data of the toxicological analysis and collected by autopsy were "scanty and not conclusive" and that the conclusion "death by cannabis intoxication" was "not legitimate."[21] Additionally, Dr. Franjo Grotenhermen of the Nova-Institute in Cologne, Germany said: "A concentration of 130 ng/ml THC-COOH in blood is a moderate concentration, which may be observed some hours after the use of one or two joints. Heavy regular use of cannabis easily results in THC-COOH concentrations of above 500 ng/ml. Many people use much more cannabis than Mr. Maisey did, without any negative consequences."

As for people becoming homeless because of it, I think you'll find that if anything, they are homeless due to to the more addictive drugs such as crack and heroin. Cannabis only has minor physiological withdrawal symptoms compared to those of the afforementioned alternatives.

Lastly, it's a gateway drug. People who smoke weed are many times more likely to get introduced and addicted to other drugs such as meth and cocaine.

That's correlational, it doesn't establish cause & effect. The people who were willing to try marijuana were already willing to try illegal drugs and so I submit that they were therefore predisposed to breaking the rules and that marijuana played little to no part in their willingness to go further. People who drink alcohol are many times more likely to get introduced and addicted to other drugs such as meth and cocaine than those who don't drink alcohol.

Alcohol. Need I say more? All of those things happen all the time because of alcohol - are you campaigning to get that banned?

Smoking one joint of weed can equal that of smoking an entire pack of cigarettes.

Got any evidence for that? Or is it just the hearsay propaganda that most people manage to come up with?

I hate it when people spout crap about drugs when they don't know anything just as much as I hate it when people blindly advocate their use. I hate it when they just regurgitate whatever GI Joe (or whatever lovable character) taught them in a cartoon or say it must be bad simply because it is illegal - alcohol was illegal for a while too. Illegal doesn't automatically mean it is bad for everyone, and I feel sorry if you don't have the mental faculties to question your government & laws because frankly you're being walked all over and told what to think.

It's obvious (from personal experience - friends & family) that cannabis use can be safe and totally fine when used responsibly by people of the right mindset, however the government can't screen everyone so they make it illegal. It's not okay for just anyone to use it and some people will overdo it or do something stupid like operating any form of machinery whilst under the influence - still, both of those things can and do happen with alcohol more frequently. That doesn't make alcohol totally okay, both are substances to be respected.

I don't use marijuana, and I don't advocate its use. If it were up to me it would be banned, as would alcohol. However, seeing as alcohol isn't banned and won't be any time soon I see the law on marijuana as a double-standard.

Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be.

No just look at people living on the street freezing in card board boxes freezing because all their money goes to weed. Many people die and O D from it. It is wrong and people the use it should be punished more severly.

You are an idiot.

To overdose on marijuana you have to smoke or ingest an amount which would be almost physically impossible. You will almost certainly die of something else first. You have to smoke 100 mid sized joints every 5 minutes for 17 hours to have a 50-50 chance of OD.

Give it your best shot.

minnesota

Where in Minnesota? That's where I live too. :P

Anyways, I don't do it for one simple reason - My uncle. My uncle is a drug addict and taking one look at him would make anyone not do drugs. He started with weed, now he is a meth addict and has been jailed many times for stupid drug related things. He's not a violent person and he doesn't drink, however, so thats good...He'd just get high and steal or do stupid things. He's actually in jail right now for 3 months for not paying fines (he had like $700 left of his restitution) from drug related problems...Now the state is spending more than that $700 to keep him in jail for 3 months. DUMB. Funny thing is he almost had all the money for it, too.

Back to the drugs thing, yea, they're not good. I don't care what anyone says, they DO make you stupid and they DO make you a "loser". My uncle is 39 and has the maturity level lesser than that of myself (I'm 19) by probably a few years...I once said he acted like he was 14, so we'll go with that. He's a loser by any stretch of the word, too. He owns nothing, never has, and when he GETS something, he sells it to get high. My dad bought him a $24,000 truck when he employed him (oddly, he's a GREAT worker, lol) and my uncle eventually sold it when he quit (no loss to my dad, he wrote it off as a business expense, so..) working for him and used most of the money to buy drugs, he now drives a $300 GMC Jimmy from like 1990.

But if you insist on doing it and say you'll never become that, go right on ahead. ;) My uncle said the same thing when he was younger. He's so addicted now, I once asked him if he'd ever quit and he said he'd seriously rather die. Honestly, it's really bad, I can't even tell you all the crazy things he's done just to get high.

Some people do get lucky though and get their life back on track, but most do not. Everyone I went to school with did drugs and I'd gather that every single one of them has moved on to harder drugs (a lot of them do cocaine) and pretty much are "losers". They work dead-end jobs and go to college JUST so they can "party".

Just my 2 cents. I'm not trying to judge people here. I understand weed is looked upon as an innocent thing, but it really can, and usually does lead to more. If you want to do it, fine.

That said, no, they probably shouldn't legalize it. It's like giving F2P players updates...They say "We just want this!" and then when they get it, BAM, it's not good enough and they want more. What's next after that? "Hey, cocaine is natural! You can't make it illegal!"? lol. I understand it has some "beneficially" properties, but seriously...Do you really WANT the government to tax an already expensive drug? Going rate (coming from my uncle) around here is $40 for 1/8 an ounce. Add some taxes onto that for the government to get their slice, plus whatever other costs they throw on. Yea, it wouldn't be the "Free weed party!!" people think.

The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past.

- Me!

i personally dont think weed should even be considered a drug...Tobacco kills 400,000 people a year statistcly(prob a lil off) and weed kills wat...none?....so seriously cmon...i may sound stupid but i think alcohol is jus as bad as weed...just society puts weed to be so much worse than alcohol i dont think its very far from being worse than weed...honestly...let me put it this way... if weed was legalized there would obviously be laws of abusing it...similiar to alcohol...u cant drink n drive...dont drive while high...just as u should not abuse alcohol u wouldnt b allowed to abuse weed...now would this stop idiots from gettn high as a motherf***er ....i think not...but i say if weed is to be illegal...make alcohol illegal as well...for crying out loud make Tobacco illegal...weed will continue to be illegal until one day the government finds a way to tax it....until then...my fellow potheads...bare with me lol...

I was going to make a long post here but as I can see from the replies of some people here (not including knives669, Anesthesia and Tigra00) that you lot dont have a clue and/or try and stay stuff to sound like you know it all. I dont see the point in discussing one side or another on the issue with people who are ignorant to the facts.

Well, it's your choice, Matt, but I'd really like to hear what you have to say on this subject. But, I completely understand why you choose not to post.

Exactly what i was going to post after reading the first few replies about people "ODing" on weed. Laughable.

At least Anesthesia is intelligent enough to realise that on a subject like this, facts are worth more than biased opinions and propaganda.

Kirk and Lars I could handle. At the same time.

Give some evidence that ONE PERSON has died from smoking marijuana. Here's evidence of THE ONLY PERSON whose death was ruled by a coroner to be from smoking marijuana - as you will notice it is then refuted by medical experts who say the evidence wasn't good enough:

That̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s pretty misleading, no one dies from cigarettes either, yet we still harp on about it like it did. It̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s not the toxicity that kills you, the related illnesses are the main concern; it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s not nicotine overdose, its cancer. Quite frankly there haven̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t been enough studies (mainly due to the government not wanting to fund it, OMG war on drugs!) to conclusively show that marijuana doesn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t cause cancer; many studies find that it is just too hard to find subjects who only smoke marijuana (and not tobacco).

To say that marijuana is ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâsafe̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ is just pure ignorance; it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s as ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâsafe̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ as any other recreational drug (not very). Just because it has the least harmful effects of most recreational drugs doesn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t make it any safer. I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m not saying it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s bad and should be banned, but it shouldn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t be touted as something harmless.

Actually, i have to reply to this one.

1. Never done it and I don't plan on doing it.

Fair enough.

2. I think it's pretty bad. The effects of weed are worse than the effects of alchohol.

Care to explain how? Smoke weed and you'll feel like sitting down, putting on some music and maybe eating pizza. Drink and you're a mumbling, fighting, puking mess.

Many people die because they do stupid stuff when they are intoxicated by weed.

Many people? Oh then it won't be hard for you to find proof will it? I'll be waiting.

Lastly, it's a gateway drug. People who smoke weed are many times more likely to get introduced and addicted to other drugs such as meth and cocaine.

I've smoked weed for about 6 years and would never try anything else. Nice try.

4. No, it should not be legalized. It would not help out our law enforcement because they would be worrying about the people who are doing stupid stuff while intoxicated.

Yeah you're right, i'm sure the police are quaking in their boots at the prospect of someone smoking a joint and going on a killing rampage.

People drive while smoking pot and that gets very dangerous. If you legalize it, stuff like that will only happen more frequently.

And again i find you distinctly lacking in the facts department. I've said it before on this board, who would you be more afraid of - a drunk driver swerving all over the road and driving over the speed limit, or a stoned guy who's doing 15 mp/h because he feels like he'll go back in time if he goes any faster? I'm not advocating driving under the influence of any substance, i just fail to see the logic in your statement. Making weed legal doesn't mean it would be legal to drive while using it.

Also, people have done things like robbing a store or even killing because they didn't make correct choices while smoking weed.

Well once again, if this is such a regular occurance, you won't have any trouble finding me some proof will you? People might have killed someone while they were high, but not because they were high. That's like saying because one guy who killed someone was wearing a red tie, red ties cause you to become a homicidal maniac.

Finally, the health risks of weed are many times that of a cigarette. Smoking one joint of weed can equal that of smoking an entire pack of cigarettes.

Once again, no proof.

Weed can also be laced with harmful chemicals.

So can communion wine.

As for medical reasons, the cons outweigh the pros.

This is about the only thing you've said that makes any sense at all.

Seriously, don't make statements like those above unless you're prepared to back them up with facts. Not biased opinions or propaganda, facts.

Kirk and Lars I could handle. At the same time.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaporizer

When I said it was safe it was relative to other drugs including alcohol. Pretty much no drug is safe, which is why I said at the end of my post that I'd see them all banned. That's just my opinion though, and seeing as they aren't all banned I don't have a problem with my friends smoking a joint because to me that is much less offensive than them getting drunk.

Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be.

If I had the option to, I'd have it banned. Two of my relatives are mentally disable right now because of their addiction to drugs. From one of them, I wouldn't even expect that since he's been a great uncle to me. He tried to stop so many [bleep]ing times but the drugs got to him either way. Now he's in chains. What good did drugs do for him?

I don't want to see that happen to anyone else so [bleep] that, let drugs disappear.

First off, while I find this post an interesting dicussion it is not a good topic for our forums as many of our posters are kids. So yes, I am locking it...first because of the topic material and secondly because of the following Off-Topic rules...
