How2PK
Heh, so you buy 20 albums and then *woosh* you're an expert. I think I'm going to buy Miles Davis' discography, then I can say I'm a jazz expert. 8-) Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore! izna
I just love Nightwish. Too bad that they fired Tarja. And about the style.. I hang around in a lot of forums. So far I've seen that most of the people classify Nightwish's first albums ("Angels fall first", "Oceanborn" and "Wishmaster") as power metal. But "Once" is usually labeled as gothic rock. Aaanndd... http://www.metal-archives.com/ Just search Nightwish and you'll get results saying that Nightwish is.. Genre(s) Operatic/Symphonic Power Metal Lyrical theme(s) Love, Nature, Astrology, Fantasy The really fast melodies on synthesizers and on guitars just prove that Nightwish is at least partly power metal. blushenka
No one can tell for certain what genre Nightwish is, not even its creator. Fact. :P But imo it's more power than gothic :| "Metal isn't about violence or faggy whiny lyrics. It isn't even about who plays the heaviest and fastest. chicodallasman
Everyone knows Wishmaster right? The song that no one understands? Who wants to bet that Tuomas and the rest of the band is like "Lets play a joke on Tarja!! I'll write a song and make her sing it really fast, so it sounds likes shes saying weird things!!" Hamster, a dentist, hard [pictures of inappropriate things], steven seagull, warrior, this rifle, in me the Fishmaster!
Necromagus
Actually, there is a lot of meaning behind the Wishmaster lyrics. It's a tribute by Tuomas to the fantasy novels that inspired him. The lyrics contain references to The Lord of the Rings (Elbereth and Lorien) and to the DragonLance novels (Sla-Mori, meaning secret path; Starbreeze, last name of Princess Alhana of the Silvanesti elves; Silvara, the name of a silver dragon; and Shalafi, meaning referring to one of the main characters from the novels).
