curse training?

Put on full armour (any type) and leather vambraces (any type). Take your staff and set stun to auto cast.

Because you have a high negative magic bonus from the armour you will (almost) always miss (aka splash). With curse you get xp for casting the spell not hitting. If the spell misses you can carry on casting against your opponent.

Casting Curse over and over is apparently very good for Experiance Points. To cast Curse multiple times on a single monster you need to have a high negative Magic Bonus which you get from wearing any Full Armour (Eg. Bronze/Rune etc.) and... I think like leather Vambraces or something bad on your feet =\

Anyway! The point is that you need to keep faling Curse Spells and you need -65 Magic Bonus to do so everytime approximatly.

ok ill wear full rune and green dragonhide vambs so it will always fail

Just full armor will work. But don't wield a staff, as then you can sometimes succeed.

You can wield a staff if you also wear green dragonhide vambraces.

The staff gives +10 to magic attack but the vambraces gives -10

so they cancel each other out.

The rest of your full (any) metal armor needs to add up to -65 to always fail the spell.

I always liked casting from the Varrock sewer key room across the water into

the 4 zombie ladder room. It's multi-combat and completely safe.

Hope this helps.

I do this on the rats in varrock sewers (not the giant ones, no, just the

little regular ones.) It's multi-combat, and there are dozens of the things.

By the time you've cast curse on the 10th one, the 1st one can be cursed again.

My greatest ambition is to kill every member of the human race.

However I am a realist and therefore know that I probably wont be able to.

one big tip must be mud staff, this would be less costly as it will reuire only bodys/souls for the spells, saving u cash, as u can sell the mud staff once ur done with it

that would work pretty good if i wasnt f2p #-o

Ducks on the Varrock stretch of the river are another rich set of targets - gets hard to find the ones you haven't already hit though.

The caged Zamorak monk in the palace is another popular target - shrugs off a successful curse incredibly fast.

If you don't mind a bit less XP for the runes, you can also repeat a multi-target cycle using weaken, if you can't find any fresh curse targets.

Please read the posts. It's the best that Curse fails, aka splashes. You can keep the same monster and you still get XP.

I always curse goblins :P They attack me, but never hit me.

Even with full metal and dragonhide vambraces, you are not guaranteed to fail every time, especially as the level increases (for rather patient cheapskates).

On a hybrid with a bit less than 40 range & mage (so no vambs) and using a staff and full metal, the curse success seems to be about 25% on ducks, maybe 10% on the monk.

Failure is never guaranteed, even with the worst possible mage penalty.

Hmmm, I wear full metal armor, green dragon vambraces, and an earth staff.

With level 81 magic and a -65 magic attack stat,

I always fail when I curse the Varrock sewer zombies.

Curse exp isn't based on accurate, no matter how accurate you are it's always the same.

Try something like Mystic. That gives a lot. Or Splitbark if you want some protection from melee.

Highly recommend shooting the monk of zamorak under the stairs in varrock palace if you can't use vambraces and if you are using a staff. Even if it sucessfully hits the monk, after 2 seconds it will regen and then u can shoot it again.

Well having done in excess of 22k curses myself on my pure, I can say it IS good training just it can become very tedious. You will miss 95% of the time if you wear full metal armour of any sort and if you do it, you only have to wait a few seconds until you can cast again.

IMO the best place is the mage of zamorak under the stairs at Varrock castle.

Have fun *raises eyebrows* :D

When I did it without vambraces and without staff, it always failed. (magic bonus -55) When I put on vambraces and Earth Staff (magic bonus still -55) It worked 50% of the time. I don't really understand. Now I just High Alch when I need magic XP.

I wore:

-Full rune

-Green d'hide vambs

-Leather boots

-Earth staff

And got from 55 to 60 without managing to curse a single creature in the Port sarim jail. Those also were the 2 most boring days in my life.

Retired

2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes

Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks.

This is what i saw when i was member:

a girl, lvl 80+, had full rune on, i passed by her and saw she was casting air strike on a man in edgeville, i came back about 30mins later to find she's still attacking the same man, i asked her what she was doing and she said its great exp, all u need is an air staff and mind runes (which arent very costly) and since the rune has such a negitive affect on mage bonus, it causes u to hit 0's every time, so u could stand there all day just gaining exp until u ran out of runes :D i never fealt like trying it since ive always liked to get hp exp with my mage, so i always cast fire strike(the best exp gaining spell in F2p, proven by me). so, my advice would have to be try the air strike thing on men in edgeville, see how it works, or if u want to gain more exp with hp exp, try my proven way- fire strike.
