It's only later on with the Statute of Westminster and the canada act that Canada became a country. Have to say Canadian's are the most kind and respected people I have ever met.. Ancestors owned a very large farm in Ottowa till the government made them an offer they could not resist and sold it to them . :( So I don't visit Canada as much as I used too.
