deloriagod
Heh, we only talked about it for a few minutes... But appearently the US was planning an attack on Canada. But Canada found out about it and wasn't anywhere near ready to defend themselves so they the 'accidently' let the US get ahold of a note that said they had TONS of troops ready, so the US dropped their plan of attacking. It was interesting to learn about... The US has only been beaten by Vietnam and Canada.. Btw.. How the hell did we lose to Vietnam? (I didn't pay attention to that part :wall: ) Internet Marketing For Newbies
jak722
North Vietnam, China and the USSR piled America during that war I think... :-k The Enrichment Center reminds you that the weighted companion cube will never threaten to stab you and, in fact, cannot speak. Lionheart_0
:shame: Came close to being at war? What do you think the War of 1812 was? America wanted to get back at Britain, but instead of going there (britain being far and having the best navy in the world at the time) They decided to attack canada. But luckly wit was used, and most battles ended in little to no bloodshed. Woot! goo Canada! Sig by IkuraiYour Guide to Posting! Behave or I will send my Moose mounted Beaver launchers at you! Eventually, the war became to costly in both money and lives, so we surrendered...

(I didn't pay attention to that part :wall: ) In Vietnam, not sure, but it might have been you weren't getting anywhere, and where fought off, but not really much of a loss. Basically, the goal was not achieved. And yeah, the only war Canada has ever had against America, we won! Go Canada! \ You know, George Bush might nuke Canada just to get even after 194 years. And on topic: Oh, Canada! Happy birthday to you! Er, us. Bmw
The US has only been beaten by Vietnam and Canada.. Btw.. How the hell did we lose to Vietnam? Lol, your history is simply terrible! The US hasn't been beaten by either Vietnam, nor Canada, and have you forgotten about your many wars with your motherland country, Great Britain? The USA just didn't win in Vietnam, and made the situation worse in the country. They hightailed it out when things got bad, leaving Vietnam in chaos. Against Canada (Britain) in the War of 1812, noone won, and noone lost...but yes as mentioned, the Canadians did burn down the Whitehouse, in retaliation for the Americans burning part of our Parliament, and York (now Toronto). Anyway, enough history. Happy B-day Canada! \

Mr_Putter
How the hell did we lose to Vietnam? (I didn't pay attention to that part :wall: )You lost because the Vietcong hid in the jungle and killed you one by one. They lost a ton of guys, but when the Americans see a few troops every single day coming back dead, it wore them down over time and the people of America completely lost interest/hope of winning, so you left with a job that wasn't done. Probably what's going to happen in Iraq... Also: of course your history teachers are going to tell you you could own Canada. It's like, manifest destiny; Americans always assumed they'd own Canada. But, of course, history is twisted by who tells it. Like I'm sure they didn't spend too much time talking about how you screwed up in Vietnam (you didn't even hear it?). I'm much gladder to be Canadian. Good quality of living, soaring CDN dollar (up to 90% the Americans, up from 67% a few years ago.) Where the American empire may well be in decline, Canada is rising!
