Dayking321
Nobody really cares about iron arrows and body runes, and there are faster ways to get them for those players that do care. Same thing pretty much applies for the law runes, too. I think the main problem with the stronghold is that it seems not to match up well with the rest of the f2p dungeons. I'm worried that new free players will be attracted to it too soon, and will get slaughtered on the last two levels, and maybe get discouraged and stop playing if it happens too much. Then again, that could just be my personal bias at having played on the free servers since Nov. 2001 without this Stronghold. In any case, I still have to thank Jagex for adding something, anything new is still fun to explore and poke at, for a bit. So thanks. :) EDIT: Maybe, if each level past the first had a quest point restriction, in order to enter, that might keep the newer folks from getting themselves killed too soon, too often. For eample: level 1: 0+ quest points required to enter level 2: 13+ quest points required to enter level 3: 26+ quest points required to enter level 4: 39+ quest points required to enter This way, like the dragon quest, the harder parts kind of get saved for later. Just a tiny problem here, F2P cant get more then 34qp. Anyway, I dont think that this will hit the econermy that hard, compared to Con. Chaos_Reborn
who gives about these iron arrows, body runes or whatever and what they'll do to the Runescape economy. We're only talking about very cheap things, iron arrows at about 20 - 30 each, Body Runes at 5 gp each. There's a lot more to worry about, for example how the rares are skyrocketing due to the monopoly market and manipulators. Besides, wouldn't anyone here be glad if iron arrows are buyable for 10 each and if bodies are for 2 each, if we assume that your statement is true? One more thing, nice avatar jwrm22, we should make a double mask one together. Visit my Runescape comedy website, based on in-game screenshots. Doomster
It does warn that deeper levels are dangerous. The area seems to work in several different ways: 1. The boot run - like running the Blurite dungeon for knights sword, can be done at low level, and with a lot of luck in avoiding any serious hits. Boots probably are too easy. 2. Ranger training ... don't much care about the price of arrows, but ranging Minotaurs from cover and collecting arrows tends to be free ranged training - may see more F2P rangers. 3. Extracting drops on levels 3 and 4 is a lot slower for low to middle levels, so the drops are unlikely to have a huge impact. 4. The sceptre - a serious challenge for lower levels, but unlikely to trouble a main. The sceptre is rather disappointing though, apart from appearance and limited teleports, it is a low grade crushing weapon and a magic staff with no autocast. Dragon_lord
I think it's nice of Jagex to give F2P an update.... This is the first F2P update in a long long time! But I hardly believe that it's meant to all players of all levels! Level 3 players will not be able to get passed level 3 and 4 ! My lvl 45 account barely got out of level 4 alive! Pretty much what Dragon said.Thread terminated.I guess that means I'm the thread Terminator? No Tip.Iters were harmed in the making of this post. kurtvegita
The changes will not break the economy, also you get the higher lvl rewards if you kill a higher lvl monster. Thus low lvl players cant get law runes!
shade_bandyt
this is a funny thread. gasp! too many iron arrows and body runes in the economy! and available to f2p players! as for laws, killing catablepons and ankous is not easy, and nobody really camps out there just training for hours. high level players just go to get their 4th sceptre piece and get out think of how world 66 has been flooding the economy with laws, or that dark wizards also drop lots of all types of runes. what about iron arrow fletchers, arent they ruining the economy too? as for the level 1 stronghold, its actually the single best place to train a pure. my level 42 1 hits level 12 minotaurs (10hp) pretty often, and i can pick up about 1k arrows with an inv of trouts and salmon. its really good training for every combat skill from very low levels (once you can comfortably handle goblins and barbarians). youve got barriers for training mage and range, plus its multicombat so everybody can get a share i think there are far more posts that highlights the benefits of the stronghold to worry about a few paranoid posters that thinks this will be the doom of the game Are you a member with a full bank and cancelling your subscription?
