Aneron
I have only recently become a member, and I have already encountered people saying "Aneron y r u usin a rune scimmy??" The answer is because I'm working on Monkey Madness, in desperate hopes of getting a dragon scimitar. However, I'm beginning to wonder if I wouldn't just be better off going ahead and buying a dragon longsword, as I have already done the quest. I used to think that scimitars are just all out better than longswords, having slightly lower stats but being much faster. However, I see many more high levels using longswords than scimitars. Are they just too lazy to do Monkey Madness, or do they know something I don't? I admit that dragon longswords have a special that I would find more useful, as I don't pk. Pleaase advise (in case I haven't actually stated my question, it's: should I go ahead and buy a dragon longsword, or do monkey madness and then buy a dragon scimitar?????) Loge_05
Buy a D Long until you can equip a D Scimmy. The Long is a great substitute for the Scimmy. Offline and unavailable.
Blaze The Movie Fan
What? How dare you calling me lazy? Al right I'm lazy, but DVDs make me lazy, it's not a dragon longsword. How dare you say such a thing? Anyway, Dragon Longsword would be my choice since the quest is easier, the dragon scimitar isn't worth it. Since it only recudes prayer. That's only useful in Duelling Area, that SP only works on players, not monsters using prayer.
andybrann
buy a dragon long then complete monkey madness and just bring a dds or d b axe for the spec cus the scimmys spec stinks for training
Aneron
The reason I'm not sure about buying a d long is because I'm fairly sure I would switch over to a d scimmy as soon as i finish the damn quest, then i would end up selling the d long, probably for less than i paid for it #-o Another option: how do d b axe's compare wtih longs and scimmys? To make it easier, why doesn't every one just say which dragon weapon of the 3 they prefer
stickyjam
battleaxe imo opinion for the lower levels is the best and well worth doing the quest to open up the guild, the dragon longs sepcial increases stats which helps for taking down the monsters at a higher level than which u can usually take down, hoping thatmakes sense
darthprince007
I know you didn't mention it, but i really prefer a posioned dragon dagger, i like using it over my other dragon weopens PM me any time.....my name has two spaces 0.o
I_Am_Me1
IMO, for now get a D Long, get 70 attack, then get a D Scim and whip if you can. Many people (myself included) use the whip for training attack and defense and the scim for strength. That's just my opinion though.
dogfever
You can often pick up a d-long pretty cheap if you loiter about in Seers bank for a while. I used to merch them a bit when I was training fletching, I got one for about 75k, usually they sell for 90-100k so you wouldn't lose much even if you bought one from the shop. I bought a d-long but I usually use a dds for quests and a dd(unpoisoned) for training, I find that the accuracy and good spec on the dagger make it pretty comparable to the d-long for training purposes (plus its really cheap). I may switch to a d-scim when I eventually get around to doing MM. df
andybrann
when i was under lvl 70 attack i prefered the scimmy against high lvl monsters and b axe against the lower but i always used b axe spec and an super atk potion with the scimmy

nightshade53
ROFL.. d long :x Just do the quest. Yes it is quite hard but it is alot better for training than a d long. If i were to train with a d scimmy, then do the following: D Baxe spec, switch to scimmy, keep wielding scimmy until your attack is back to its usual lvl, then d baxe spec again. When you get 70 att, and can afford it, a whip is th preferred wep for att/def
meb
Imo you shoudl do monkey madness (overrated, especially with your prayer lvl) and get a d scimmy. It's the best imo. If you really need a special, do Lost city and buy a dds. The dragon baxe si too slow, and the dragon mace is -well, a mace. Retired 2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks. sheepdean
stick with long, scimmy is great for pk'ers, but if you want to hit more often, more powefully and have a good spec, chopose long Back by popular demand! And I guess I just wanted to tell you, as the light starts to fade, that you aree the reason, that I am not afraid, and I guess I just wanted to mention, as the heavens will fall, that we will be together soon if we will be anything at all.
