July 14, 200619 yr http://www.denverpost.com/ci_4046846Pete Coors apologizes in drunk driving case By Felisa Cardona Denver Post Staff Writer Beer magnate and former Republican U.S. Senate candidate Pete Coors was arrested on a drunken-driving charge and is due to appear in court next week. A Colorado State Patrol trooper pulled Coors over after he saw him run a stop sign around the corner from his home in Golden at 11:25 p.m. on May 28, according to Coors spokeswoman Kabira Hatland and the citations. Coors stopped his 2004 green Jaguar in his driveway, and the trooper smelled alcohol, said State Patrol spokesman Trooper Gilbert Mares. Coors failed a field sobriety test, was placed in handcuffs and taken to the Golden Police Department jail, Mares said. A Breathalyzer test showed he registered a 0.088, which is slightly above the 0.08 blood-alcohol limit in Colorado, Hatland said. July 15, 200619 yr Why is it that if someone famous/important is picked up for DUI, it's all over the news.. But when some random guy is picked up for DUI, the only way it gets on TV is if they shoot the cop and run away... :-k Imo there's no reason for a famous person to get more attention just because the broke the law.. It only mattered that he was 0.008 over the legal level, not 0.088 above the 'sober' level. If you're gonna take into account the effects below the legal level, why even have the limit?
