I like what I see come out of Photoshop, but I alredy know Paint Shop Pro & I am far too lazy to learn Photoshop.

Photoshop because im pretty good with it and psp i cant do anything with it (animations)

Well, I prefer Psp, mainly because Ive been working with it for a couple years now.

There no such thing as a 'better' program, since you can do the exact same things with both programs, its just takes some more effort to do it.

Photoshop. In psp I only manage to do some disgusting bricks lol.

PSP cuz I dont even ave PS.

Alot depends on what you start with. Overall, PS is better, but harder to learn, and is also more expensive.

then soembody suggested photoshop and it was hard to grasp at first but you can creat much more useing photoshop and it does help expand your abilitys.

I used psp in the past but i couldnt make anything good in it, i transfered over to photoshop and im still learning today :)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Im starting to get into using cinema 4d too

I've used both and I like PS a whole lot better than PSP.

I started off with PS, so it's my favourite of the two. Be warned that it isn't too user friendly for newbies, although there is a lot of online help available through Google.

I found PS a lot easier to work with than PSP. :? I started off with Photoshop Elements, but even that was more easier to work with that Paintshop. :( Yea, PS Elements is missing a lot of buttons that regular PS has, but it's enough for me to work with. :oops:

Photoshop, because it comes with image ready and its easy to animate

Photoshop.. I downloaded the trial of paint shop pro once, and It completely alienated me, after being used to PS I had no clue where everything was in PSP.. like how to control layers >_>.

That part got me too, the whole layer style thing lol :oops: Than i saw the slider (my layer's thing was kinda small) So of course i felt realy stupid after that.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ah well, photoshop it is, although if u are broke just get psp8 (i've seen for like 79$)

Photoshop. I started out on PSP and liked it but never did anything that I was real proud of and then switched to PS and I'm a lot happier. You can do anything in PSP that you can in PS but I just find PS a lot more powerful and user friendly.

I suppose it really depends on what you want to do; paint shop pro is really for digitally colouring things on the computer while still retaining the feel of traditional art tools. I tried out the free trial for it and got the impression that the trial version was very limited; there were very few brushes to choose from, and the options were also very limited. Then again, it was a trial. Photoshop on the other, as the name suggests, was made to be an imaging editing program, and is thus more flexible. Photoshop has overally more potential for image editing, but it's a lot easier to get a traditional paints on canvas feel with PSP. Personally, I would like to get to know the ins and outs of both programs as they both having something different to offer. I've seen beautiful work done with both, and there are other, lesser known and even less expensive programs, which do the same job for sometimes less than half the price, such as Open Canvas (which, I believe, also allows people to collaborate in real time).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Personally, I own and know Photoshop very well, so it's a lot easier to achieve different effects with it for me.

I started off on PSP, mainly because it came with my computer. You can still achieve some great images using PSP. I found that switching over to PS not that hard. If you do have trouble, there are plently of guides that show you where all the tools and whatnot are located.

photoshop i feel more [developmentally delayed]ed than I already am when usin PSP
