the_trinity_11
If you notice on the login screen where the "new user" or "existing user" after you click existing user where you need to type in your username and password. Well i have recently noticed when you type in the following it makes ______ happen: @red = red text flashing @red then yel@l (in backwards text) @yel = yellow text flashing @yel then yel@l (in backwards text) @ora = orange text flashing @ora then yel@l (in backwards text) @wht = white text flashing @wht then yel@l (in backwards text) @gre = green text flashing @gre then yel@l (in backwards text) @blu = blue text flashing @blue then yel@l (in backwards text) @cya = cyan text flashing @cya then yel@l (in backwards text) @pur = purple text flashing @pur then yel@l (in backwards text) @bla = black text flashing @bla then yel@l (in backwards text) Try them at the login screen and see it for yourself. I beleive that's it for the colors! But, also if you post anything with the symbol "@" and then any 3 letters (maybe numbers too, havn't tried) then the font remains white although the 3 letters and the "@" symbol both flip with the @yel like the colors. Can somebody answer my question, is it a glitch? Or what's it used for? :-k P.s-If this thread is not in the right place :ohnoes: could a mod please move it :D Thanks. EDIT******** Two players have brought to my attention that these color codes may have something to do with the old RSC colors. But why would they be in runescape 2 and on the log in screen of all places? You CAN use the codes above followed by another "@" symbol like it worked in RSC although, at the login your username space will be cut by the code amount ^^Example: You're aloud 12 digits/letters but by writing @blu@ (or any other color) it will be cut by 4 letters and will turn your font blue. Meaning if my user name was Cool_Ice77 at the log in screen it'd be: @blu@(it hides the color when you do it)Cool_ic and will NOT let me write "e77" to finish off my user name :!: ^^ PLAY this awesome game...Clicky

tefda
just some coding the programers put into the game i guess. i think this has bene posted before. Back in RSC the way to change the color of your text was to put @first three letters of a color (gre,blu,yel,whi)@ and then you'd have different colored text. We didn't have anything flashy like flash (pun intended) or wave. Someone mentioned it before. I still have never tried it.

noname713
this seems similar to the way you changed text colors back in rsc (for example, if you wanted green, you would type: @gre@text...) maybe it's some way of helping the older players go back to the days of rsc :? fyi, these are all the color codes i remember... @red@ = red text @yel@ = yellow text @ora@ = orange text @wht@ = white text @gre@ = green text @blu@ = blue text @cya@ = cyan text @pur@ = purple text @bla@ = black text @ran@ = rainbow text (it would flash between all of the available colors...this was the equivalent of glow, flash, etc.) i apologize if some of the color codes i posted are wrong...it's been a couple of years :( Fear the frog reaper. noname713
perhaps, but if you put the @ at both beginning and end (ignore the part where it flashes to yel@) then continue to type text (for example, @red@username), you notice that the text becomes the specified color  this is exactly how we changed colors back in RSC (except for the part where it flashes to yel@) Fear the frog reaper. Junkieman
I know they're the rs1 colour codes, but even so, it doesn't explain at all WHY they're on the LOGIN screen. I might go check if they do anything on the rs1 login.

Junkieman
Most definitely yes, yes you will. No, I'm only joking. I'll presume that you're a member, given the dragon stuff in your sig pictures. Jagex seem to be alot less inclined to ban members from what I hear, so I doubt it. As for on the classic login screen, it simply did what the codes used to do in game and entirely changed the colour.

In your friends list, if someone is on your world, their colour goes to green. In the JAVA code, to produce that text, they'd use something like "@gre@World 18" or so on.
