here's what to do when a scammer approaches you with the scam trick. you immediatly withdraw 3 (if one of them splashes) of your best "bind" spells + some really good food just in case. make sure you are 3+ squares away from the scammer. when the tops become vissible, bind the scammer and quickly telegrab the tops (the scammer will be one square away from the tops so he could still attack you) then quickly teleport. (phr33 mystic tops pl0x!)

 

 

 

 

 

NOTE: don't attempt this with 70+ magic because of spell failure. you should not try this if the scammer uses magic (usually they use dds) or range or when he takes you to lvl 20+ wilderness.

its the best way to go.....its the best way to beat the scam hands down

Normally they will check your inv before you go by offering you like 27 sharks, to make sure you dont have runes for tele, most scammers will also carry laws and airs so they use these in the trade, so make sure you remember how many they give you, and when you bank your stuff just withdraw enough airs and laws to tele cammy,

 

 

 

then pick up the noted stuff and tele asap, like as soon as u pick it up, use protect from mage as well if possible.

 

 

 

Alternativly when they trade with you just click the report button and use item scamming and then walk away :)

all i did was when someone tried to scam a whip off me i would just walk around and when i see the smystic tops i would just eat some of my sharks....yes thats right i bring sharks to trick them.. :) its rather smart actuaaly.. :wink:

mystic tops are so obvious now adays.. an experienced scammer would use d scimmys or d longs, those protect over whips aswell, dont pick any up if you see them

A friend of mine actually queried whether this was against the rules. It isn't.

 

It counts as a lure, as it takes place inside wildy, and because wildy has plenty of warnings, it isn't a scam.

ya, this happened to me too... i told the guy off and logged, exept mine was "i need a whip pk picture for my clan

Yep, a scam. I have been asked dozens of times to make those so called "movies" with my rares. Anyone will do it, I have had people from lvl 40 to lvl 119. It is quite pathetic, but once one scam is easily identified, expect some new ones to rear their ugly heads. :?

take the cat toy you get from ratcatchers I think, people mistake it for a whip all the time lololol...

watch all the clan pic ppl i got asked about my d2h and d legs and said why dont u use someone in ur clan and the scammer logged i add to friends and spammed him till he added me to ignore then i sent my friends in to spam him ignore and then we did it on our other accounts hehe gotta love spamin a noob scammer.

pick up 3 mystic tops in that case and turn on prayer. Then let yourself be killed (protect item prayer duh)
