August 13, 200619 yr Author Yea, free is great, legally is good, but I'm not worried about bending the rules a little bit. What is "gimp"? Quest Cape Achieved on November 14, 2007Items AcquiredCrystal Pick and HatchetBerzerker Ring x 33/28 Barrows Items

August 15, 200619 yr What is "gimp"? The GIMP = GNU Image Manipulation Program (http://www.gimp.org/) It's an ok editting program if you don't have the money to buy something like PaintShopPro or Photoshop. All my sigs were made using it, but I'm in no way a major sig designer. It covers my needs, and probably goes alot farther than my skills can take it once you get use to the GUI.
August 16, 200619 yr Yea, free is great, legally is good, but I'm not worried about bending the rules a little bit. What is "gimp"? You should care.... but GIMP, as it was already explained is a program almost like PS but taking off like 80% of the resourses. It can get a bit confusing, but is very used.
August 16, 200619 yr You can take a look at The Gallery Faq and Resources Sticky it has a number of programs you can download for free and tutorials on how to make images for sigs... but a lot of people do just use paint for example misterxman... ~Alduron
August 16, 200619 yr I have Photoshop, but I barely use it since it doesn't work under Linux (it doesn't work with WINE, so don't suggest that). I use The GIMP in Linux. If you want Photoshop but don't have money you could get Photoshop Elements. It's a slightly less feature filled version of Photoshop for about $100.
