celebelian
A couple things I figured out you might want to try: if you wear your vambs the whole time you save an inv slot, thy don't lower the pray bonus. If you take a dramen staff (assuming you telle back to lumby) you can take the fairy rings from zanaris to CKS (the rings right by the mushroom patch). Zodiak12
Nice guide for beginner Barrowers. I use all the info from multiple guides and every new one helps :) The thing I found confusing first time ( ) was what to do in the tunnel and how to get to the last brother, etc. A lil more on that I think would be nice, but otherwise nice job
tuhdude
yay! people like my guide! that makes me happy  (oh and if you wear vambs the whole time it brings down your mage by 10. thats alot. you want prayer bonus but if your mage is dragged down its gonna take to long and you'll be waisting p pots. so you really dont want to wear the vambs) PKERS CAN ALL BE DAMNED TO HELL! panthers4091
You may want to wear the highest RFD gloves you can and just forget vambs, saves inventory space, but don't do unless you have mith+ gloves.also a god cape is definately a good thing if you can get one,so is any kind of god book and unholy symbol gives att bonus and prayer. Anyways nice guide,I may use this method soon.

BoD
u can effectively mage the melee brothers in armor so i actually suggest proselyte, its got the best prayer bonus in game which really helps in borrows lost rights to my dark red text >:( 12/20/06 - QUEST CAPE OF ACHIEVEMENTBarrows sets: guthan, verac, dharok, maybe ahrim eventually <- lost to a hacker whole stole everything of worth from my bank
whizkid338
This is now kinda old. Monk robes are out of date. Melee armor is a good idea for Guthans and for the tunnels. R.I.P The Old Nite. draymire2
What monk robes! Wont you get killed or do you safe spot? Well this is what i would wear. It gives bad prayer ok mage bonus and pretty good Defence protection but vary bad for meleeing. Helm of N. Amulet of fury Verac top Arim bottom D boots Ring of life (no brainer) Obby cape Slayer Staff Granite Sheild stakes won:32max hit:
JoeDaStudd
Nice guide. If you add more to it it would be a great guide. Some advice. RfD gloves are great - range, melee and magic bonus'. Hunting capes or god capes are cheap/free and offer better bonus' then nothing. From 62 to 79 magic use Air Wave and not slayer dart as you hit higher and at less cost (bloods are cheaper then deaths, plus you don't use minds). At such low lvls Holy Wrench helps a great deal. Prosytle (sp?) is better then monk robes if you are careful with your run energy. (Run through the swamp, as long as you have about 20% when you start killing the brothers you should have 100% by the time your ready for the last brother.) Show the safe spots, as they can save a lot of prayer pots/points. RazorSpearZ
Seems like an OK guide, but magic bonus isn't THAT important. If you keep it above -5 you should hit the brother very well still, which brings me to the next point. You might wanna use proselyte instead of monk robes, since Verac sometimes hits through prayer this is good.
JoeDaStudd
[hide=massive typo/spelling fix]Well... my first barrows run was when I was at lvl 77 and though it was hard I don't think its as hard as most people think it is. So this a guide I'm making for people that are at lower lvls. information on barrows Well when I started I looked through some guides and I noticed something; they don't help at all for a your first trip. They don't really explain what to expect or anything. So this is what you will be looking forward to. First barrows is where you kill 6 brothers to get a prize. The main thing is to get a barrows item. (armour or weapon of the 6 brothers), but most of the time you'll just get runes and a little cash. So once you get there you dig and fight the first brother. (it doesn't matter what order you fight them in) I always do ahrim the mage first because my range is low and I prefer to do hardest first, then when your done get out quickly. Something I didn't know is that when you are inside your prayer is drained. it takes 10 pray about every minute or so. I don't know the exact time. and you don't get any drop from the brothers so the moment they start to die just leave. Go to the next brother kill him and so on, and on one random brother you get a message saying "you found a tunnel are you fearless?" leave. This is the last thing you do. So kill the rest of the brothers and come back. Once inside its a small maze to the middle. The problem is that the last attacks at random. Kinda. The monsters respawn when you open doors. So if your just standing there you will not be attacked, but when you open another door be ready for a fight. The main point is the find the middle where you be met with a simple puzzle to open the door. These are really easy so don't worry about them, but if you get it wrong the door will change place. Once inside just open the chest and search it. if you haven't found the last brother yet he will attack you when you open the chest. and that's it! So now I will got into some detail for you. requirements for barrows, (and suggestions) quests: priest in peril, and have atleast started nature spirit stats: you must have atleast 43 prayer. but higher is suggested. i would say 55 mage plus is a good idea. and if you have 55 slayer you should use slayer dart as your main tactic. money: you will need at least some start up money for barrows. p pots are 7k each and when i started i was using around 5 a trip until i figured out what I was doing. so for starters 100k - 200k would be good (maybe more, but dont worry you should be able to get it back) range: I would strongly suggest you have atleast 50 range. Mostly so you can use blue armour and mage bow. plus I always bring range pots to. but you don't have to if you have decent range. (my isn't very good) agility: high agility can help you but you don't need it. when you can run all the way to barrows and still have energy left over its a good bonus. Plus you don't want to walk through tunnel if you don't have to. So I would suggest some agility. what to bring well i have looked at alot of guides and i pretty ignore everything they all say about what to bring. but thats just me. you will probably want to change a few things depending on your stats. but this is what i bring on my trips. (also i forgot a way to tele out in this pic. so the best is any tele tablet as they take only 1 space. so just remember some way to tele out) inventory you must have prayer pots! they are the most important thing. even if your above lvl 90 you could still be killed in about 5 seconds flat if you unlucky. so you must bring p pots. i bring 4 or 5 on my trips and my prayer 49. so depending on your prayer and everything else you might want to bring a few more or less. but for your first few times i would bring about 7 or 8 until you get the hang of things. this is optional. i bring these to make things a little easier but you dont really need them. if you don't know that's strength pot, range pot and attack pot. they just speed things up a little. spade! you must bring a spade to get in! armour and weapons well 4 of the brothers are melee so mostly you'll be maging. but 1 is range and 1 is mage. and trust me the mage is hardest. (atleast for most people. he might be easyer if you range is high enogh) so bring range armour and a bow and arrows. it doesn't matter what it is so just bring what you can. and a melee weapon is good if you want to get your kill count up. this will make the secondary item you get better. so rather than say 30 death runes with a kill count of 6 you can get 100 with a kill count of 20. (this is just an example, there is no set amount) oh and the stat restore is also if you plan on melee because ahrim decreases your str. if your slow on him you could find your str around 20. and of course you need runes for killing all 4 melee brothers. i use fire blast as it is pretty good and deaths dont cost to much. but i have also used chaos and done fire bolt and that actually works better than you would think. so you dont really need extremely high mage and chaos works fine. but 40+ would be good. food food is also if you want your kill count up. cause you just need to kill rats or skele and stuff. so bring for that. (and verac can brake through prayer so you might some food to fight him as well) i just got a whole bunch of sharks in a trade but you can use whatever you want as food. (i would suggest though sword fish or better) equiped prayer bonus! this is the most important thing! do not bring any armour for defence bonuses. all you want is a prayer bonus. that's all. so holy or unholy symbol and monk robes are the best. (intitiote or whatever its called has same bonus but it decreases mage so its not to good) those are boots of lightness. these are just great. mostly I use them for anything I'm doing because they decrease your weight by 4kg so you can run longer. and you don't want to walk to barrows so these are good. if you don't know to get them check the quest guide under "temple of ikolv" ya thats probably spelled wrong but whatever. and you DONT need to complete the quest to get them. fire staff is for the fire blast. if your not using fire then just get the staff for whatever you are using. arrows... thats it you must bring a ring of life! it is extremely important! you do not ever want to go without ring of life... EVER! it is a great thing that will save you if your health drops below 10% this has saved me several times. for one i lagged once. lost the connection and when i came back... falador. but! thanks to ring of life i didn't die! so you must bring ring of life. killing the brothers! wow this is getting longer than i thought. so! how to kill the bros and other stuff. how to get to barrows here's a map for everyone. (ya this is from the tipit guide) just make sure your running because the ghasts in the swamp will get rid of your food. and you dont want that. so mostly just run to the boat. its easiest. here is a pic of where the brothers are. (if you didn't know, just stand on little hill and dig with spade to get to brother) (yes i got that pic from the tipit guide as well hope no one minds) so here i will tell you how to kill each bro ahrim: he is the mage and in my opinion the hardest. so dig, turn on protect from magic and open cript. make sure you have on all your range stuff and prepare for the fight. (if you brought a range pot i drink a dose now, you should only need 1) and make sure that you keep a constant eye on your prayer! if you run out your dead! well... if your quick you can drink a dose of p pot and be ok but i wouldn't risk it. (that's how i died once at dhorak) mostly i just drink a dose of p pot when i fall below about 15. once he's dead grab the arrows and get out. oh and a friend who used this guide told me that because he trained pretty much nothing but his str that ahrim was really easy for him to melee. so i don't know myself but if your str is say higher than 75 you might want to try to melee him. karil: well they say melee him but i think mage works just as well. so if you mage is a little low i would melee him. just do the same thing just remember protect from arrows. and keep an eye on prayer! guthan: he is very easy. just come in ready with mage armour and fire blast or whatever spell your using ready. and with melee protect on. but the thing about guthan is he can heal himself. so when he's getting low dont go and think the battles over cause he can come back. but most of the time its easy. dhorak: same as guthan just he doesn't heal. but! the thing to remember the lower his health the higher his str gets! so if he gets below half health and if you run out of prayer he will 1 hit you! its happened to me! verac: same thing. the only difference is he can brake through prayer. he wont do as much damage but he will damage you. so keep an eye on your prayer and health on him. torag: easiest of all. mostly... just kick his [wagon]. so far i have never had any trouble with him at all. uxcept for some reason he attacked me in tunnel... still don't get that. the tunnel: this is where you get a small maze. in the middle your reward! I think I mostly covered all this above. just remember kill count does not effect whether you get a barrows item. it means you will get more runes or whatever. barrows item is just luck, (but of course you must kill all brothers) CONGRATULATIONS! you've completed barrows! well that's mostly it. I'll be editing this alot. (i typed the whole thing at once so my fingers hurt and i bet there are alot of errors to fix) so if you have any questions please ask me. oh! please msg me (nversaydie13) if you would like to do a run or two with me! its always more fun with more people! plus if one of you dies the other can get your stuff back... that happened to me once :XD: so i hope you liked it and i really hope i helped some people out! please post a thank you or bump or anything! but please I beg of god do not flame me... please! I spend over 2 hours typing this and how would you feel if you sat and typed for 2 hours and some guy tells you how much it sucks? so please be nice edit: well head-hunter had a good point so here are some pics from a few of my recent barrows runs. missed the pic of lvl. boy was having a bad day here my first barrows item! (i know sad it took me so long) so hope you guys liked it. and please the if anything just leave a bump or tell me what you think of it.[/hide] [hide=Drops]Dragon Axe x11Berserker Ring x9Warrior Ring x8SeercullDragon MedDragon Boots x4 - all less then 30 kcGodsword Shard (bandos)Granite Maul x 3Solo only - doesn't include barrows[/hide][hide=Stats][/hide]
