RAM increase possible?

Featured Replies

It cost around $25 to upgrade your RAM to 512mb.

What you need is a stick of 256mb RAM. Although you must find some that will be compatible with your motherboard. I'd say contact whoever you bought your computer off of and ask them about it.

And it has to be the same type of RAM. When you have it, break out that rusty screwdriver, start taking the case apart, then you'll be in the motherboard, which is that big board that holds everything you're seeing, 4 or so little stripes, parallel to each other. You have to unlock one of them, then put in the RAM, then lock it, and screw everything back together. Don't worry, there will be directions with the RAM

there you go

ALL i need to know is what RAM card would best fit my system I already know how to install it.

-no longer playing runescape, I have moved on to play world of warcraft. But I love the community of the forums so I plan to stay here.

You're likely looking for 'PC2100' and not 'PC3200', and don't buy off of Walmart. Try http://www.newegg.com. You might want to confirm my little PC3200 to PC2100 idea.

http://www.memoryx.com is good also, i just recieved 512mb of laptop ram from them and its working perfectly.

For the guy who made this thread FOLLOW DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY whenver your installing it \'

I finally beat runescape.. YES I have quit.

~-I am athiest-~

You have ddr266 from what I can make out from the small picture. Which is pretty slow for ddr. You can either replace all the ram with ddr400 or just stick with the drr266 and get another 256mb stick or something.

I don't see any brand on that memory. I suggest getting something with a brand on it.

Major brands would be: Patriot, Crucial, Corsair, OCZ and Kingston.
