Do you like the Magic card game?

Do you prefer PvP versus Roleplaying?

If either or both of those was a yes, you'll probably enjoy Guild Wars. It has some adventuring PvE-type (Player versus Environment) content, but the real strength of the game is PvP, and character building.

Read Nadril's review and/or google for more information.

Its a good game, but more for people who are into the pvp aspect. As someone else mentioned you max out at level 20 (which doesnt take long at all), but imo the pvp part of the game makes up for shortness of the pve.

Guild Wars is a great game but EQ2 is better \'

If you like being nerfed without second thought.

I must add too, the PvP in EQ2 is horrible. Some of the most unballanced piece of.... i've ever seen.

This is a Runescape tips forum, I assumed Nadril that you were comparing it with Runescape?

This is the Off-Topic board. If you look at the description of the Off-Topic board you would notice we don't care about Runescape.

Nah, I was more of comparing it with:

Lineage II / Anarchy online / EVE online / Guild wars / Guild wars : factions.

 EQ2 is just kind of a WoW clone now.. which, is funny, because WoW started off as an EQ1 clone XD.

I played EQ1 for a couple of years and I find it MUCH better than WoW..

There was so much to do, and it was so great when it was released, and there was more of a role-playing aspect to the game.

Wha.. What..? Where am I?

Yeah, EQ1 is, but EQ2 just sucks.

It's kind of like this:

EQ1 (good) ----> WoW (bad, but at least an easy + fun experience for newbies) ------> EQ2 (complete, utter, crap  )

Anyways, I got factions today after a while. Doing an Assassin / Monk build..

I haven't even bothered playing EQ2, I don't want to buy it, and I don't know anyone who plays it around me, so I can't try it out.

I'm tempted to buy Guild Wars, but I'm more of a PvE guy myself, and I like to do huge, week-long quests that take forever to complete, but the reward is something worth showing off, plus, Guild Wars doesn't have the monthly payments, which for any RPG is good.

Wha.. What..? Where am I?

after reading that rewiew, it looks like a newer version of diablo2, sounds quite interesting.

guild wars is worth it if ur like those huge mmorpg fans and it isnt monthly payment like WoW <.<

lvl 20 is the max lvl, its like getting a lvl 55 in rs, u dont have to worry about looters and ppl stealing ur monsters. u can customize ur party ur weapons armor and any sorts of stuff, u cant make a pure in this game

if u do repetive stuff like pvp and just training on monsters u WILL get bored, the best advice is try to hunt monsters with ur party and hunt for rare items or do as much quests as u can and try to beat the game
