You have 3 good choices to mine iron close to bank

 

S of varrock , chasm mine N or AL Kharid or Dwarf mine

 

I would pick dwarf mine as it has more iron and less people

yep. and if your lucky, someone will be dropping ores or will trade you ores so you don't need to waste time mining ores and waiting for the ores to respawn. \

I personally like dwarven mines. Even though there are more people, use time zones to your advantage. Say you live in New York, and it's 8 PM where you are. It would be 1 AM in London, so playing on a London server would be a good choice, usually without a lot of people. Or if it's 1 PM, it would be midnight in Sydney (I think), so that would be good. And for your second question...You probably can mine 600+ ores an hour. That's 1.8K every day, but let's just round to 2K. That's 3 days and 1 hour.

It's far closer to the bank than the other two. With 66 mining and a rune pick there will be few people that can take ores off you.... Ignore the masses of noobs...

Varrock is my personal fave for mining iron, since it's right next to a bank, and there's fewer people. Though Dwarven Mines are good too. :D

Varrock is the best.. All the noobs get soo annoyed at you... lol its fun seeing them mad... :D

SW Varrock mine here too. I took iron from most people at about 45 mining and rune pick. You sometimes get a member or high level dropping ores too, or people giving them away.
