jade_slayer6
Okay so ive recently been doing barrows. I'm on my first trip to the mounds and I had warning signs that all this crazy stuff was goona go wrong. I forgot to pray at the grotto and one of my sharks turned into waste. So I get to dharocks tomb and its the tunnel. And I sail through guthans and torags but here comes veracs. I got hit a 15, 14, 10 another omen :ohnoes: . So I finish up ahrims and kharil and go into the tunnel. To get to the chest took me longer than ever before, another omen. Then whever dharock pops up he hits a 24. but i still own him. After I open the chest I get... you guessed it junk. but that isnt the worst part. I realise that I forgot my ectophial! bum bum buuuum. After running around trying to find the ladder I realise that with no more food and a few ppots i figure I should have to use my ring of life. So i turned auto- retaliate off and let a skeleton attack me. And i teled out, red bar with only 2 hp left i thought I was going to have heart attack.
aj926
Nice story, but barrows aren't really that hard if you do them well. Nice RoL usage, props for remembering. EDIT- dtory = story
Rebdragon
Nice story, but barrows aren't really that hard if you do them well. Nice RoL usage, props for remembering. EDIT- dtory = story *points cospicuously at sig* The Barrows aren't hard in any way, period. This is a nice story I guess, it could do with some revising (the level of coherency wasn't great) and the story wasn't bad, nothing big though. Oh, and wrong forum. [if you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.] Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series. If you go 1 time with 6 p pots... obviously challenge is not going to happen at all. If you go there for 5+ runs in one trip like i do without guthans, then it adds a tad bit to the difficulty. Barrows has always been about fun and wealth. Challenge comes second. And if you are bored stiff of it, try a different approach. Veracs and ancients add nice dynamics. But you are right, overall the general difficulty of barrows is low. Oh, and wrong forum. Report it instead of being useless than. I see no cross through my ! Freshwacka
How can you forget your ectophial/1 click teleport? It is one of the most important items to take to barrows. And also, I 100% agree with Rebdragon's signature. Self proclaimed barrows experts are bragging about being a "master" at an easy peasy minigame. 99 Crafting Blog

Jimmyd17
How can you forget your ectophial/1 click teleport? It is one of the most important items to take to barrows. Hey, don't tell me you've never forgotten your spade  .I was just about to say this. The spade is the #1 most important thing you take to barrows simply because no spade = no barrows... And barrows experts can be called that. Plumbers are called experts and through experience it's not very hard to do either. But I prefer the term "Barrows Extraordinaire" it sounds so much less braggy... to me anyways. : Forgot to reply about the story... I'd say you found a very creative way to use that RoL. Hope you get some better luck next time and don't have so many things mess up. It happens to all of us... including the barrows extraordinaire.

This is a nice story I guess, it could do with some revising (the level of coherency wasn't great) and the story wasn't bad, nothing big though. Oh, and wrong forum. Barrows expert has NOTHING to do with how hard it is. There are countless strategies, tricks, alternatives, secrets, and such. Being an expert just implies mastery of many of these such ideas. For example: Being able to instantly tell what room you are in after only a second after entering. The speed in which you can defeat all the brothers. The memorization of each puzzle and solution. Knowing the locations of every safespot, from which rocks can be hidden behind, at what angle/direction, and ending with the invisible ladder spots, and being able to use them effectively. Using the shortest/most efficient way to reach the barrows. Yes, some of these are easy enough you can learn them merely by following others instructions. But no first-timer will be able to effectively utilize the swamp shortcut to the boat. I tried it myself, it's inefficient the first one or two tries. Safespots are impossibly difficult to those who don't understand how monsters move and haven't practiced with the various rocks/skeletons. There is DEFINITELY such thing as a barrows expert. (And I'm far from being it... I still can't figure out how barrow drops really work... and I'm a bit sick of rumours atm.) Want to learn to Nex? The Nex Hunters are recruiting! Quasar889
Need a new ring of life? I'll sell you a bunch for 6k each. I have 10 I think. You act like the game community is like the stinking bowels of hell.... In all reality.. its much.. much... worse.
Rebdragon
Barrows expert has NOTHING to do with how hard it is. There are countless strategies, tricks, alternatives, secrets, and such. Being an expert just implies mastery of many of these such ideas. For example: Being able to instantly tell what room you are in after only a second after entering. Easy enough, I could do that by my 10th run (done 300 so far). Just recognize familiar rock and tunnel placements, and check the minimap compass. It's not hard in any way at all. The speed in which you can defeat all the brothers. That's based on skills, not experience. The memorization of each puzzle and solution. Again, it took me no more than 10 runs to be able to do this perfectly. The puzzles are like 1st grade level thinking. Knowing the locations of every safespot, from which rocks can be hidden behind, at what angle/direction, and ending with the invisible ladder spots, and being able to use them effectively. There aren't a ton of them to remember, and the ones in the side tunnels and the northeast rocks are easy to use. A baby could do it... So again, it would only take 10 or so runs to understand it. Using the shortest/most efficient way to reach the barrows. That's common sense. Either speed Barrow by camping, or House Tele/Myreque. Burgh de Rott is decent also. The shortest trips have been proven already, it's just a matter of how much access you have to certain parts of the game -i.e., having a house, doing certain quests, etc.- Yes, some of these are easy enough you can learn them merely by following others instructions. But no first-timer will be able to effectively utilize the swamp shortcut to the boat. I tried it myself, it's inefficient the first one or two tries. Safespots are impossibly difficult to those who don't understand how monsters move and haven't practiced with the various rocks/skeletons. Okay, so you aren't an expert on you're first try. DUH. You even said that by the third try it's fairly easy ("first one or two tries were the only hard parts") There is DEFINITELY such thing as a barrows expert. (And I'm far from being it... I still can't figure out how barrow drops really work... and I'm a bit sick of rumours atm.) There isn't much about the Barrows that's difficult, the only hard part is getting prerequisite skills and quests done, along with certain helpful utilities, like a house. The Barrows itself is a joke. [if you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.] Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.
