September 25, 200619 yr Well, I have decided to bring my main back to life and go for 85 minning. BUT im just not sure what to mine! I know most people mine Iron but I have heard Granite is good xp!? Just wanted ot get some opinions on what I should mine!

Considering a perfect mining routine that is around 2k xp per 3 min. That puts you at just 40k xp per hour even at perfect routine. I can get max 25k xp per hour at the iron powermining. Considering a perfect mining routine that is around 2k xp per 3 min. That puts you at just 40k xp per hour even at perfect routine. I can get max 25k xp per hour at the iron powermining. Maybe you had certain advantages over me? I don't like the concept of powermining: your only "profit" is xp. I like something in return for my effort (except xp) so I would say mine iron. If you don't mind smelting/smithing, you can sell them for approximately 100ea, which is still a nice pay-off for levelling a skill. *Hearsay* If you insist on powermining, granite is best. Other data was removed when acoount got hacked...

From my experience you should skip iron and do granite if you're power mining. I personally never got 50k per hour doing iron but then again I chose to drop after a full inventory instead of as I went. And before you dismiss my advice I've done fairly extensive timing/xp trials on both iron and granite. Using the same method in mining both, granite is 1.23 times faster than iron. So that's fairly significant I would say. September 27, 200619 yr whoa, thnx for the tip shade. i always dropped full invent instead of 3 at a time. ur advice got me to addy mining finally. After all these days of being stuck at 67-69 mining..... I actually timed trialed a bit on ur technique. Went to world with 1400 ppl. 1.5 sec to drop 3 iron consistently and just as i dropped the 3rd ore the first iron respawned. From start to finish (moment b4 u click the 1st iron again), it took 6-7 sec considering i am not a best at cliking and my reaction time is avg. So (6.5 sec per 3 ore ) * 10 cycles is roughly 1 min per 30 ore. That would be 1050 xp per min of hardcore mining with no lag, randoms, distractions, etc. Do that for 30 min non stop (zenith of human endurance to repetition), and u end up at 31500 xp per half hour and 63000xp per hour. The problem is that you said 50k per hour so maybe my numbers are wrong? I averaged about 7 sec to mine 3 ore and drop it just before the ore spawned again. Off topic a bit here but today when i no lyfed to 70 mining, i got 9 gems in about 20 min. I got 2 sapphs off of one rock lol. I'll just reiterate that you clearly have no idea what you're talking about, and that 40k is the absolute maximum exp per hour you can get powermining iron. There have been many topics like this on this board, and this is the first time anyone has tried to claim you can get more than 40k per hour powermining iron. But no, you must be right :roll: Yes I have, and its easy, with either hand. The 3 ores can be dropped in less than 1 second. There is a slight delay between dropping an item, and its picture disappearing from your backpack, you can have dropped all 3 while they are still all showing in your inventory (not that this helps in any way). There is a similar delay with the picture of the rock changing - you can start to mine the next ore while the previous one is still showing (this does help slightly). It is easy to mine and drop with time to spare, it should take around 70 hours to get 85 mining.

Ive powermined myself up to 85 mining and I know what I'm talking about: The maximum xp you can get by powermining (and dropping yourself) is 42k xp. Even when somebody helps you (trades with you so you dont have to drop), it's nearly impossible to get 50k an hour. A Guide to Chinning in Ape atoll: up to 325kxp/h!
September 28, 200619 yr Not to be rude but ive gotten myself mining 77-80 at granite, my members ran out and i finished with irons. I never ever got over 40k exp per hour at irons ( i take it from the experience of mining over 50 hours almost in a row there xD ). Not sure about granite but one day i really nolifed and got 200k mining exp at granite rocks o.o 6221st to 85 Slayer. ( Yippee)
