This past month and a half (ever since I abandoned my main account) I've been working on a F2P hybrid PKer with no Defence or Prayer. Well, it turns out that as I was PKing today in Edgeville, I went to switch to a Rune 2h Sword and ended up acheiving level 2 Defence by complete accident. The reason the Block attack style was selected was because I was using Fire Blast when I switched weapons and forgot to switch my attack style to Slash. :cry:

 

 

 

Anyway, since I've pretty much ruined this account with level 2 Defence, I was wondering what I should do with my Defence level? Should I just keep it where it is or should I go for level 40 Defence and wear rune while I PK? I remember reading somewhere that F2P PKers should either have 1 or 40 Defence (no in-betweens) to really have any advantage in the wilderness.

Leave it at 2, it wont make any difference to you at the moment. Wait until you have really high strength (85+) before you even consider getting anymore def levels.

It just took the place of an hp level; with sufficiently high skills it won't even matter. Also later on you may even want to raise your def to 20 anyway for full mystics. I wouldn't worry about it, there are much better pkers than you with "random" def levels and they do fine.

Haha, okay. But the Mystic robes won't matter to me because I'm F2P.

leave your def where it is. Chances are when you're fighting, you'll get another def lvl. Once it gets to 5 from accidental things like that, you can wear steel. And if you dont get any more def lvls, 1 lvl isnt really gunna make a difference. Especially when you get to 85 str and like 60 att.

I agree with all those who say to ignore it. You should be fine without any "self-done/self-forced change" to it... If you get more, you get more. If not, then not. You're still in the Hybrid-defense-less-purist zone anyway. :)

Leave it at level 2. Two defense is better than one, and it gave you something like 1/4 of a combat level. Don't go all emo on us, and don't go all rune pure on us (unless you really want to). It's just fine how you have it. Many pkers have 2-5 defense, all which is on accident.

FWIW, each level increase in Defense will raise your overall combat level by 1/4

I really hate pkers that get upset about obtaining a def level and say its going to kill their account, I mean how often is a perosn one level away from being able to be pked. Sorry if I sound angry but I really dislike pkers for manny reasons, not to be told today.

i would check tip.it calculators, the cb lvl one, see how far the def lvls can stretch before it makes another combat lvl go up

Sorry if my regard for my account offended you, I just had a strict plan and wanted to see if I could stick with it. There's no reason to get on to me about it; I don't know any better. But thanks for all the advice everyone!

 

 

 

Oh, and by the way, I abandoned my main account because it was getting harrassed too much by other players. I just kind of wanted to start fresh and try new concepts of the game that I had never experimented with before (like PKing).
