Ape
I thought I'd have a bash at PS for the first time, it took me about 3-4 hours. Layers are b-----s to get used to. Here it is, don't laugh: Any hints or tips for next time? -Mitch New sig to come!

eckered
heres what i do sometimes... to get the same colors as the render, black bg, random white brushing, new layer, paste the render all over the place and run a pick filter on it, at high repitition, then set it on overlay wop wop
Ape
Ah, right.. I'm doing a sig for myself at the moment. I'm usually a pixellist, having a crack at this though. I'll try what you said. Thanks for the advice. Do you know how to make it look as if it's glowing? Like.... A light around the edges? :) -Mitch New sig to come!

cadburys_egg
- Feather the render. Or atleast blend it some more. - Text is illegible, change it. - Did you make the background? It just looks like an image. :? - Needs a definitive border, 1px black is fine. Layers are b-----s to get used to. Actually, it's harder to work without them. Most of my works have atleast 20 layers and the layer settings and blending options do most of the work. Without layers I, and no one else, would be able to achieve the effects we do. cadburys_egg
i think he made the bg... looks like some blk brushing with a colorize number pulled on it... It could well be, but it looks very much like trees on the far left, fading to snow in the middle and going back to trees on the right.
runemetsa
Layers ARE useful when you get used to them :notalk: Change the text, it took me like 2 minutes to figure out what it says... and yes, good for first. At least someone bothers to check tutorials before submitting the first picture. Text fits nicely in my opinion, though it could be a little clearer. Random feet FTW! =D> Writing in colour was fun while it lasted...The Tip.It. Yeah, 100% my background I used about 4 different brushes for it. I used a total of about 8 layers for it. I've almost finished my second piece. Pretty addicted to it, now. xD I'll post it up in about 20 minutes. -Mitch ---- Thanks for the comments. New sig to come!
WutangFlu
20-50+ layers... blah At max in my sigs I do 10 layers... if that... Man, even in my wallpapers I only use 15-25 layers for a somewhat complex one... and maby 30-40 for a complex one.
