deloriagod
So me and my gf (and a few friends) and have going out every night this weekend (4 day weekend for our school) and spending money on haunted houses and ice skating. But we haven't been spending my money, we've been spending my parents money and they're tired of it. They won't let me get a job until January but then they won't give me money to go do things either. They always pushed me to go out with friends and when I finally start to they won't help me out where I need it most. So here's my little problem.. I need to find things to do that won't cost money (or much money). I live in Iowa so it's getting cold here and we can't really go outside anymore. So does anyone have any ideas of things we could do? Thanks! Internet Marketing For Newbies
Barihawk
Board games. 20x more fun than video games, cheap, and hours of gameplay. Question type games are fun, like Apples to Apples or other cerebral games. My heart is broken by the terrible loss I have sustained in my old friends and companions and my poor soldiers. pkr_92
hmm thats hard. being cold doesnt help. i know how you feel on the parents thing. depending on the parents someone can just have every1 go over there house for a day or so. it wouldnt be too bad if you can keep it at a limit of friends. also if your good the parents might let you do it again. every1 can bring a little something or money for food if you get hungry. and you can just have some fun there. bored games, cards, eating crp, doing w/e you want. it doesnt matter usually friends make the fun happen. i dont know iowa at all so i wouldnt know how anything works. im hispanic so it might be totally different up there for all i know. hopefull if my suggestion sucks for you (which it kinda sucks period) then some1 else will post a better one :) supermonk wrote: To Jagex, your worth five dollars. indy500fan
Anything that is fun costs at least $8, so you are pretty much screwed. Southpark FTW! My friends all love Apples to Apples, I don't care for those type of games. I categorize the games into two types: Knowledge based games, like Apples to Apples, Scategories, Scrabble; Logic based games, like Risk, Stratego, Chess. Luck based games like Monopoly and Life I usually add to the Logic type. I prefer the Logical types, all my friends prefer the Knowlege type. So yes, board games are awesome. Where I live ice skating is $4 per person on weekdays but it's $7.50 per person on weekends.. And I usually pay for my gf when we go out, so yeah, everything costs at least $8. My parents don't mind paying $8 for us to go out for the night, but it costs a lot more when we go to haunted houses, movies, etc. Internet Marketing For Newbies
Lionheart_0
well you say its cold, but i doubt its "cold". So, if you got any engergy, i would suggest maybe taking your g/f on a long hike somewhere. Doesnt have to be all day, but like a 2 hour hike is nice, and you can talk while you are at it (good exercise too). BTW, how old are you (I probably missed that in one of your topics). Off-topic: Ive never played a full intelligent game of monopoly. I want somone to play a full game with one day :( Sig by IkuraiYour Guide to Posting! deloriagod
It's been in the 40's (Farenheit) here the past few days and I'm not the kind of person you often see wear a coat. Also, I'm 16 (and get my drivers license in about a month). Internet Marketing For Newbies

Especially if you are good at it, then everyone else gets mad, because they just thought it was purely a game of luck and skill wouldn't matter :P . insane
Is this for just you and your girlfriend, or for a bunch of friends too? If it's a bunch of friends, the card game "Pit", will work for one night. I'm 20 years old and just a couple weeks ago me and 6 of my guy friends played it for half an hour, and at the end were choking and almost vomiting with laughter. Of course it was a one time thing, but pulling out old school board/card games works once for each ;) Or, if it gets really cold, go to a conservation area and destroy icicles for an afternoon. Around here (Southern Ontario) near a gorge we get icicles so large we bring sledgehammers and it takes a few swings to bring them down, it's tons of fun. xvillexvalox
Rent a musical/scary movie and invite her to your house to watch it. Even cheaper if you already own a movie.

I own a lot of scary movies (they're my favorite ;)) @insane: I wish we got icicles that big here. I'd love to take a sledgehammer to something other than my old deck :P I think I'll look up how "Pit" works :) Internet Marketing For Newbies
____
Can always play Spoons. Fast-paced and a tendancy to get "violent" :P
insane
Can always play Spoons. Fast-paced and a tendancy to get "violent" :P Or water spoons. Each time you lose a round instead of "getting out", you drink a full glass of water. Last one to go to the bathroom wins. Or even better - instead of using cards for spoons, you use dice. First person to roll triples (you can roll 1 die at a time) grabs the first spoon. The loser rolls a dice and drinks the number of glasses of water as shows on the dice. That definitely a group game though.
knives669
Watch some movies, play some video games! Video games, comedy movies, and the occassional Anime are my boyfriend and I's past times! We also like to hang out with our other friends and do something. We rarely go on dates, though they are nice, they're not top priority. ^_^ I like to just hang out with him and let things be spontaneously romantic, rather than planning romance. ;)

Screech1992
If you have some instruments around, you and your friends could also just make some music. It's fun, and anyone likes music :D But not everyone has a drumkit and electric guitar :?It's actually amusing how many black (and I use that only because I'm not sure if they're Aboriginal, Maui or Philipino - but I'd put money on the latter) teens do that. And they pull it off with pretty much anything. I'm yet to run into a group of them that haven't been producing some good tunes with their medicore (at best) instruments. issy2
Lol yes music is always good! Play Sardines.  No honestly, it's a great game. You get in a wood, or a forest, or a large house, and 1 person hides while everyone else counts to 100. Then everyone else splits up and looks for the first person. When someone finds that person they have to hide together. So eventually everyone except 1 person is in the same place... ha it's funny...

I think it didn't go off to well because whenever I was the one to hide first, no one could ever find me.
jackattack
practice grammar or advanced geometrics. jk but seriously, go to the mall you dont have to buy stuff, or go to the movies and have 1 friend buy a ticket go in and open the exit that goes right into the theater. When my mother was little, she uesed to play pit with her brothers and the kids in the neighborhood. It got to where she played with her family, and that her family were quite good. I had a family reunion about 2 years ago (my mother side) and we played pit. Good gosh, ever seen a 60 year old woman 5FT tall reach all the way accross a 4FT table to get a card? I went horse for 3 days. Best. Card game. Ever. "We'll bring the sexy back to judging >_>." --Nadril Bleh, once I get off my lazy bum and go to Imageshack, there will be a picture here.
