A Pondering on RuneScape History

To my fellow scholars, and others this may concern,

As I wander in this mysterious land we call RuneScape, I wonder, what were our ancestors like? Were they simply barbarians? Or a race of beings more powerful than we can ever imagine to be? Although little evidence of the first three ages remain, there is still evidence of ancient forms of magic. We know that many people are craftier in current times, but, were our ancestors more powerful than we when it comes to war and combat? And I ask all of you reading this, to ponder on this as you roam the landscape, so that we may one day, unlock the mysteries of this land.

Heh, the only way we can ever know is if they implement more history based quests. Pondering probably won't solve the mystery, no matter how many people do it. :P

There's a large history in the Library of Varrock section of the Runescape website. As well as you learn a LOT during quests, but you have to be a member to get an actual sense of the history of the lands of Gielnor (sp?).

No Tip.Iters were harmed in the making of this post.

theres an 'official' runescape history in runescape's knowledge base...idk where it is exactly, but its in there. Something about 192 years into the fifth age.

I will shoot down any one with my bitting wit, and sarcasm!

What POSSIBLE reason would someone have to make a fake like that?Does he profit from faking a picture like that? Does it help him at all?Jesus Christ, stop being so suspicious. This is Tip.it for God's sake, not RuneHQ. -_-

I think it's pretty obvious from this topic that Runescape players don't role-play.

Me, I know all this nonsense in the knowlege base is wrong. Truly, in our most ancient era of knowlege from ancient times was a dark and bloody past. It seems even the barbarians of their modern-day village have grown past what it was like in the past. Back in the day, runescape was dominated by the "gods", who played a very large role in the lives of the average denizen. Where the ruins south of Varrock are is one of the more modern of settlements, and varrock has spawned from the mouldering remains of what was once the frontier of a modest civilization. Having been plundered, there is little distinguishable left, other than a maze of low-lying walls. If you look closely, the south east wall of varrock, in some placces, is newer stones placed on top of the ancient rock.

The alters where thousands craft runes were aboveground, and much more potent than the ones shown. they could craft runes there, instead of merely using them as a transport to where the true power may be located. the priests of the time would spend their days healing the wounded from the bloody battles, and observing and wondering at the power of the runecrafting alters. Many a theologian would deign to divine the purpose of these, as even then they were not new. Maybe they date back to the creation of Runescape Itself.

the battles of the day were prominent, as each city-state tried to take ofer another. The whole world was like the wilderness, with volcanoes belching lava, and a haze of smike surrounding heroes of legend, fighting the armies of deamons that beleigured the normal folk.
