GOD ARMOUR DISCUSSION / RANT (u decide)...

Question: Y is god armour so expensive???

Whenever I get any god armour from a lvl 3 treasure trail, I find it very difficult to sell for the prices in the guides, I usually advertise at a little below the price and still struggle to shift...

It has no additional bonuses over normal rune armour (i think it should give at least a prayer bonus) and it is not that rare...

My Conclusion: If the price was to lower, then it would not be a worthwhile prize at the end of a lvl 3 clue, so Jagex must give some sort of additional bonus when worn (prayer +5 or so)...

It makes sense that god armor should give prayer bonuses, but I doubt they'll implement it.

There was a rumor that they do when they came out, then once they didn't the full set was suppose to :D

I believed it for a long time, once i found out the truth i was as puzzled as he is. Zammy plate looks decent with d legs or skirt but that's about it what it comes to the liking of god armors. :?

Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either

a fool or a coward.

Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law

is both.

For a wounded man shall say to his assailant:

"If I live, I will kill you, If I Die, you are forgiven."

Such is the Rule of Honor.

I fully support this. I myself have had trouble selling it.. (Specialy the skirts.. There evil.. EVIL!) Prayer bonus would acctualy make it a everyday useable armour. Since it would like blow away rune armour then.. Or better yet.. Why not make them like the Goddly books in bonus? \'

Then again.. Maybe that's too powerfull? But if that was the case.. Zammy would soon be on demand. :D

I myself have started to just hold on to all of my treasure trail rewards. So far I have one of each kite from doing trails.

Seriously, the trail items are pretty cool. Sometimes you might be better off just keeping it.

God armours weren't made to be powerful, they were meant to be for looks

They cost high because people are willing to pay that much for them, and after a L3 t-trail you don't want to sell it for cheap either

Also, it may not be so good for members, but for F2pers it's one of the few options availiable to look decently good while training/doing other things, apart from random event clothes and rares, not much else to use...

If you were f2p, have an extra 1-2.5m that don't know how to spend, why not buy a god armour to use while training? It may not be better than rune but at least you'll look good :P And the money will have an use and not be sitting in your bank doing nothing until you get more money/decide to spend it on something else

(Specialy the skirts.. There evil.. EVIL!)

Oh how I wish Jagex to bring back Thrandor to Varrock. In RSC, Thrandor used to convert skirts to legs or legs to skirts for free, thereby making them of equal value. In RS2, Jagex removed him, saying there is no need for him since the graphic engine change the armour to suit the gender of the character wearing it. As we (we=everyone who has ever tried to sell or buy a trimmed skirt or a dragon skirt) know, the drop rate of those does NOT reflect the actual supply/demand, and hence the non-smithable skirts are worth a lot less than the legs equivalent.

Back on topic. Yes I think god armour should have some kind of bonus, at least when used on P2P. Prayer bonus definitly makes sense :)

Please think before you ask a question. If you ask the right question, its much more likely you get the answer you are looking for :)

If armor is godly, why doesn't have a prayer bonus? A question that is just too logical. I guess they decided they didn't want to make it overly powerful in their scheme of balance.

They just look pretty, and are fairly rare. I think they're still worth a hefty amount, as sara and zammy plate go for over a mil. Thats good cash.

The skirts ARE evil, and they SHOULD bring back the Thandor dude. Hmph.

If it's going to cost at least 5 times regular rune, it should have something than white/green/red tint on it.

It only costs 5x as much because players determine that, try selling rune and god rune to a store, they are worth the same. Jagex dosnt care what the players make it, they just released it to have something different.

they prob wont edit, they are for looks :( but whenever i get some i wait till i get a full set or hop to world 1 and sell it 50K cheap and people trade me like crazy :P

I'm 106 and I'd do it if it wasn't for what Reb posted...

If Reb jumped off a cliff, would you follow him?

 Who wouldn't?

The thing is, God Armor is to F2P players as full Dragon is to P2P players. Its the best armor they can get, so its more of a show of wealth. I do think a small boost would be a good idea, like each gives a Prayer Bonus, then Zammy gives extra Strength, Saradomin gives extra Defense, and Guthix gives a little of both, similar to how the Prayer Books are.

Expecting a good life because you're a good person is like expecting a bull not to charge because you're a vegetarian.

I can see some reason for giving God Armour a prayer bonus, but i don't think there's a particularly compelling argument in its favour.

I do think that is that the argument suggested at the start of this thread is a poor one though. For a start, you seem to think that price guides are gospel and that if you can't sell for what it says, there's a problem with the game. Prices rise and fall for everything, the fact that perhaps God Armour has gone down is neither an issue specific to it, nor particularly surprising.

Furthermore, i disagree with the suggestion that it's an inadequate clue reward. When you consider the range of rewards on offer, it's clear that there's a vast spectrum - from merely a piece of rune armour to items such as Ranger kits which are worth millions. This is intentional, as it adds to the intrigue and excitement of doing the clues, and i feel the God Armour fits nicely into the range of items on offer. It is, as many people have pointed out, one of the few 'wealth' symbols in f2p (regardless of whether or not it's becoming more common) and people pay millions for it, therefore it clearly fits in its current place in the market.

If it was completely unused then i'd see a good reason to add a prayer bonus, but it clearly isn't.

In a little hilltop village they gambled for my clothes

I bargained for salvation and they gave me a lethal dose

I offered up my innocence, I got repaid with scorn

"Come in'', she said, "I'll give you shelter from the storm"
