November 11, 200619 yr to start this off here is a quoted statement by jagex about health issues and runescape-"While we do not block people from being logged in to RuneScape over a certain number of hours, we do not encourage people to play for more hours than is reasonable." Jagex has about a 1 paragraph page about healthy gaming- it can by found in the knowlage base. As we all know stories of addcition are popping up everywhere, I myself realise that i'm addicted, this affects my grades etc. And yes it is hard to stop. When i consider stopping an awesome update comes out among other things, its nevereding! I would like to know your feelings about what jagex should/shouldn't do about the addiction problem that I feel many fellow runescapers have. Getting another sig[removed]
November 11, 200619 yr I think the system is good as it is today. People that is addicted to the game have to solve their problem themselves. Add me if you so wish: SwreeTak
November 11, 200619 yr That, or Jagex could shut down the Runescape servers for a month. (But still charge members) Live, love, eat!
November 11, 200619 yr im with swedishboy on this, its not jagex's fault some people play to much. they have warnings when you log in not to play to much so there's not really much excuse. just set boundrys (sp?) for your self and assert some self control.
November 11, 200619 yr Author yes, we should be able to prevent ourselves from being addiction but still, i think there should be some measeure preventing people from playing to much Getting another sig[removed]
November 11, 200619 yr yes, we should be able to prevent ourselves from being addiction but still, i think there should be some measeure preventing people from playing to much Then Jagex would lose money because people would quit because it isnt "unlimited" time, if they did that they would just do it 2 f2p, as a bonus to members ie f2p--50 hrs a week p2p- unlimited time.
November 11, 200619 yr I think the system is good as it is today. People that is addicted to the game have to solve their problem themselves. Counselors would help :P I've gotten past the addiction and now play less than an hour a day :XD: Although i'll never be able to get that santa at this rate :x
November 11, 200619 yr Make more money of off the people who who do not have the will power to quit RS! Of course, that's what any sensible businessperson would do. They shouldn't do anything. They are not compelled to, and it is not looked down upon as unethical. Trix.--quit WoW as of 12/07Thank you 4be2jue for the wonderful sig and avatar!
November 11, 200619 yr Jagax should not implent time rules. You should have enough control to handle yourself you mother is not always going to be behind you telling you to eat you broccoli. That is exactly what it will fell like for older gamers. I don't know about you but that won't be a good felling for me.
November 11, 200619 yr it is 0% jagex's fault. the responsibility lies solely on the player. this goes back to the court case about those teens getting "addicted" on happy meals, and blaming mcdonalds
November 11, 200619 yr They can't do anything about it. They're running a business and its to their advantage if people play their game. They wouldn't really care if all their users were addicted... the only thing they can do is announce those messages. They can't win: They give us a new updates, we play more, we moan about addictions. They don't give no updates, we become less addicted, we moan. Just take breaks and remember that RL>RS Thanks Choas for the Avatar and Petry for the sig (You know who you are) :)Optimistic Elder in Runescape's only cult, The Order of Cabbage.
