Discontinued items gets rarer every day, for various reasons:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Hi-Alchemy accidents

 

 

 

Death without anyone nearby

 

 

 

Dropping somewhere no one else is

 

 

 

Permenant Ban

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

these are 4 reasons I can think of. There are many other reasons, there is absolutley no reason it's gonna get more common. They are mainly for collectors however, I basicly don't like them because they give no stats, and before posting something like "Hah, you're just jealous" I wanna tell you I'm NOT. I wouldn't want this since it gives no stats. Wearing one doesn't even prove if you're rich, since you could have gotten it from something like the duelling area.

permant bans are the main reasons why party hats are dropping in populations, some are stupid enough to macro and real life trade their rs gp. thats how supplies dissapear and demands go up

I bought my santa at 18m and originally was planning on holding till Christmas time and then selling for a huge profit. Now I think I might just hold on to it because I haven't been playing much and I think it will be a good money maker if I'm not playing. But...if the prices shoot up, I might not be able to help myself... :ohnoes:

meh santas are by far the easiest rare to merchant and fluctuate so much and people are making millions out of it, I've kinda given up now, getting 18 santas scammed off you isnt much motivation ;p but meh we'll see i might try make up a santas or two from the next price rise/drop its all alot of people are going to do until sources run dry, then who knows how high they'll go.

It is only an investment vehicle, comparable with a Stock.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Difference is price can only go up in the long term, except should Jagex decide to make them untradable. Which is more than unlikely

The downs are just seasonality effects due mainly to new updates(Xmas effect on Santa is [cabbage]. People dont buy before to s ell after, this is against common sense...They would agree to pay more to buy and sell for less, knowing that price will go up soon... C'mon, brain is not only there to avoid the free space in your head 8-)
