How do you study for exams/test?

Read the book thoroughly once and then try to make example exams or past exams if they are available.

Works well... For me at least. :)

If it's hard, I read over my notes and do any worksheet/study guide my teacher gives me. Then, I study in our little 30 minute break we get everyday (we have 7 periods. 3 academics, 3 electives, and 1 period where half of it you study in a classroom and the other half you eat lunch). Usually, there is this girl who is taking most of the classes I am so we usually study together at school.

If it's easy, screw studying.

That depends what exam of what course you should study and remember.

If it was a math exam (or any calculation with practical uses), you need to practice and write physically all the problems, calculations, theories, and techniques in order to get the formulas.

If it was a history, biology, philosophy or any heavy theory courses, learn by heart word by word. You may try to find a way to relate every single detail in the course or find a way to rephrase all the information (for a example, make a conversation with the Spanish/English vocabulary in a highschool test. It takes less effort and you'll remember quickly.}

If you need to read some book, reference, or any articles, you need to read and understand it. There's no way I can help this out.

If you're talking about how to write an exam efficiently, then it's different. You can look at all the questions and the time you have and separate them equally depending how fast you answer your questions. Plan how much time you spend to answer the question you know {by answering them right away if you can.} Skip the ones you might take too long or you don't know.

If it's a multiple choice, it's easier, use your guts and answer everything you can by using the technique I mentioned before. When you have extra time, you can review slowly your answers and the missing ones.

Those are my basic tips for finishing the exam at the first 10 minutes of a 90 minutes exam.

It depends on what kind of exam I'm studying for.

If it's Chemistry or any kind of Math, I practice some problems on paper.

If it's anything else, I can just basically read over notes and stuff and do very well on the test. I rarely study for anything that isn't Algebra or Chemistry. :P

I don't. Usually, even if I'm day dreaming, I absorb all the things the teacher says. Never gotten a C or below on a quiz....

What level of education are you at?

I never studied for my SATs, and yet I got level 7 for all.

But i've got GCSE mocks coming up, and i've tried a few practices and I need alot of revision.

Generally I don't study for little end-of-term tests, and I still get A/B+s.

Yeah me too. Normally just reading through all my notes and revision guides is enough, but for things like maths practice papers help a lot to give you a feel for what they're going to ask you. Normally I absorb stuff during lessons fairly well though.

Look over it, attempt questions.

If you can't get the questions right, find out how to do it.

Rinse and repeat until you know everything, basically.

I'd say that's a very good way. That's what I do. That ensures you learn those things that you don't already know, and re-inforces the stuff you do know by repetition. Make sure to do this with the answers to hand if they are available, in case you get stuck. There's seriously no point in working at an exam paper with no idea whether or not you're doing the right thing.

This is what I'll be doing for... well, the next week and a bit, probably. Then some more.

i dont study cuz im just cool like that 8-)

That doesn't make you cool. =;

Learn in parts of 10 mins, and if you are about to learn the next thing, repeat the thing you learned before. Repeat, repeat, repeat. \'

At least, I think that.

If it isn't math or a language i grab the book and read it from the first to the last page. I dropped out of school and made my high school "degree" (is it that how you call it?) by learning that way. Now on university i do it the same way. I don't attend lectures. Just read the books or scripts. Usually i learn for hours in a row.

Usually if there's a sample exam I'll take that and study what ever I botched up.

Same, plus if you're using a revision website or book, there's almost always a revision summary with questions on the whole topic.

Me myself do the above, or make my own question card's. Game shows :3>

If its a hard test I just read the section over again. I can remember a lot of things quickly, plus the test are sooooo easy I dont need to study a whole lot.

Best study method i have ever seen. I just pay attention in class. If i ever have to read the chapter, it is because the teacher didn't teach well.

I don't really study. If I feel that I really don't know whats going to be on the test, I'll take some time to look over the material in the unit we're studying. I just mainly try to stay focused in class, which sometimes is very hard. Ugh.. I hate midterms and finals..
