For what I have tried whit hunter and have read that you can do and get, it looks for me like jagex just made it so all thouse top skillers and thouse thats close to max out every skills has a new skill to take up to 99, and I dont realy think that jagex did take that much time or enegy to make it a great skills...

(pssst..I think he meant runecrafting..)

No no, I was referring to Prayer with Gilded altars :P . Interesting how runecrafting still works there too though :-k .

As for the answer of getting a high level and becoming rich, I see how they differ from hunter (which I havn't tried, but I'm guessing there's no profit). I was asking a question more along the lines of "why play the game?", not necessarily "how does it benefit you in the game?"

Either way, most skills in Runescape don't seem all that fun, which is why I'm confused that people do them :-# .

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

For people who say Hunting is for fun, I'd have to say that Hunting is the most boring skill ever made. But that's just my worthless opinion.

Supermonk, proving you wrong since 1992.

Supermonk rocks, I want to have his children.

Music is like candy. You always get rid of the rapper.

Yes indeed, your "worthless opinion" as you say,

Because I see it as the total opposite.

By 'fittest' do you mean 'most selfish brat with the fastest internet connection?'

well, there is a little bit of money to be made with hunter also,

to get from lvl 63(able to catch red chinchompas) to 99, you must catch over 47k red chinchompas, which sell for 500 each on forums right now.

thats over 23m if you dont feel like doing math. :-$

So how come someone has already nearly finished getting 99? Unless 5 years passed before my eyes without me noticing.

Anyway, i love the skill. It definately has advantages for the other skills, and because the highest reward right now is 71, it means the skill has plenty of room for expansion with new creatures and items to use.

There isn't much point in going past 71 except for fun right now, but i can pretty much guarantee that in the coming months Jagex will make the skill worthwhile for those who trained.

Short answer: if you don't see a point in training it right now, there will be one.

if all you think about is how the skill makes you money, then dont train your skills go earn yourself a paper hat!

Because it's addicting. It mimics things in real life and lower levels (at least when I was) saw all of the glory and galmour of being high level. I think that is what drives people to do it. It may not necessarily mean anything but it gives you a sense of accomplishment.

And really, what's the POINT of Firemaking? How about Construction, or really, any of the skills? Wait, what's the point of the game?! Hmm, I think this may give you the answer...

CAUSE IT'S FUN!

The game I can definitely see as fun; if it was simply all addiction the game wouldn't be this big.

Construction I agree with you as being fun- being able to make 5 new things every level, and customizing the sweetest house in the game is a lot of fun. But Firemaking? Don't kid yourself :P .

I'm not sure, but did that just prove the player mentality that Gp, and only gp, is equivalent to fun?
