Crumble undead...Nerfed exp?

Featured Replies

I heard some where that crumble undead used to give better exp but jagex found that out and changed it. How was it different originally. It currently gives a base exp plus 2 exp for every damage inflicted, just like normal battle spells. Does anyone know the exact exp it used to give?

if you use the slayer staff it can auto cast it which gives half the xp

without it, its normal xp

Come to #tip-it on Swift IRC, if you're cool

it has nothing to do with the slayer staff it used to give some insane amount of exp like 80 something and then they nerfed it to less than fire bolt.

Just an average player with a horrible name...

It was corrected (base xp halfed I think) after Jagex caught on to the fact that tons of players in rune armour were just autocasting crumble undead while being afk all day.

The xp is more in line with the spell's level now, and the evil chicken soon appeared after all this autoing on monsters was discovered. ;)

Why do you think that? It was nerfed before slayer came out

lol your wrong..it was nerfed after slayer because it took 55 slayer to weild the slayer's staff which is the staff needed to auto cast the spell

i dont beleive so...but sigjicu0 is right...cause i went from like 50 to 86 mage using the staff...before it was nerfed...only took me 35K chaos :)

Are you sure? I remember them halving the xp after the slayer staff came out. * I just found this in the Tip.it Times highlights of 2005: "Slayer Skill (26-Jan)

The Slayer skill introduced a wide range of useful features to the game. Firstly the Magic dart spell and the Slayer staff. Magic dart was popular to use for the upcoming barrows update. The slayer staff opened up a new way of training magic, with the staff being able to autocast the Crumble undead spell. However Jagex later spoilt that when the experience you received from casting Crumble undead was greatly decreased (halved)."

It was nerfed shortly after they nerfed Charge, further making rich players looking you 99 mage mad. I remember 3 Hit U ranting that they kept nerfing his strategies right after he bought he materials.

It was 'nerfed' because many people; as said before; just wore rune armour and cast it afk for hours on end.
