made a new avvy. saw a post in the art bazaar about a wolf, so decided to make myself a wolf avvy cause i like wolves :P CC and ratings requested. also, is it better or worse than my current avvy?

V.2- not much difference. changed the eye a bit, shortened the ear, tried to make the fur look less carved-like and more realistic, tried to make the fur look like it was more attatched to the wolf.

 

 

 

Oooh, I am in love with your animal pixels, Shadow. Always turn out so prettyful. ^^ To be honest, I like your current one a little more - something about the shadow and the colours. That's not to say this one is bad; it's an excellent piece of pixel art. ^^

I think it is better than your current avatar, but that is just because I'm not a huge fan of the big, black silhouetted horse in the middle of a warm-based avatar. The colors work together better in your new avatar. Although, the thing I think is wrong with this one is that the eye looks like the wolf's squinting his eyes rather than closing them (looks like he's doing this: :XD: ).

i prefer it to your current personaly, but thats me.

the fur isnt that intragated into the head, itsa kinda like a dogs head poaking out of a pile of something, have hte fur creaping up his face and thinning out.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

the fur looks like a lump of clay thats been kniffed and carved into shape, as oposed to soft hair. dont really know how you improve that, again, not sure :?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

the moon looks good, but maybe aa it a tiny bit, one colour in tactical places.

ive drawn this wolf twice in rl, both times in colour. the second time i did it, it looked better. i know its kinda overkill; how unusual- a wolf howling in front of a moon. wow-o-wow, how original!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

lol. its just i love the colours in it, not sure why. ill see if i can fix the chin, eye, and fur up. try to make the fur less... 'carved' and more realistic, and join it to the head properly :oops:

as for your crimbo sig, i suggest you have him on a house roof, with a city landscape behind, would look bery nice (kinda cliche again, but most things are in realist =P) however it could be hard to do that much detail.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

oh idea! you could have a city landscape but have it blurred out of focus and pixel it that way! that would looks good and is easier. also gives you a chance to work on aa again =)

ill see if i can lessen the density of the fur, and the rigidness of the ear, see if it looks better. shall also try intensifying the glow around the moon :)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

unfortunately with the xmas sig i did it at the WORST possible angle, without thinking. i just kinda.. started the linework for a sleigh with no actual idea of what i was going to do. but i still love how my reindeer took. theres surprisingly a lot of different colours, and i had to try to blend them quickly, cause if you look at a ref pic of a reindeer the colours kinda meet abruptly. ah well, think i succeeded to the level i was hoping to!

I'm alarger fan of wolves, and, to me, the colors seem more 'right'
