Trojann2
Troj's Guide To KQ Hunting By: Trojann2 ~Created December 17th, 2006~ The Kalphite Queen, used to be the Biggest and hardest monster in all of Runescape, But with the advent of the fight caves minigame, TzTok Jad beat her with lvl 702. The Kalphite Queen (KQ for short from now on) is still the biggest monster that you can kill with friends, and doesn't take hours to get to. She also is 1 of the 2 ways that you can obtain the Dragon Chainbody. This was once revered as the most prestigious piece of armour in the game. This piece of armour, is THE reason that People go to the KQ and kill her. Also, I would advise you to be at least 100 Combat, and Willing to lose high level equipment, But trusting team, you will have good chance of getting your lost items back. BE AWARE: The KQ can hit 31's very often, so she can three and four hit everyone in the game with those kinds of hits!!!. The Inventories for Kalphite Queen Hunters There is quiet a few different setups for killing the Kalphite Queen, and depending upon your level, will make it easier or harder to kill this huge bug. But beware, She has TWO Forms, One a Scarab Beetle, and the Other a Red Wasp. The First form has Protect from Magic and Protect from Range. Once the first dies, the bug will molt into a Red Wasp, with Protect from Melee prayer on. ~Low Risk Equipment~ Requirments: 80 Attack 80 Strength 70 Defence 70 Range MANY 7+ Amulet of Glories ~High Risk Equipment~ Dragon Dagger Specials (Not Reccomended) Requirments: 80 Attack 80 Strength 70 Defence 31 Magic Dragon Mace Specials With House Teleport Requirments: 80 Attack 80 Strength 70 Defence 55+ Construction (For Portal Room) Dragon Mace Specials With Llyta Teleport Crystal Requirments: 80 Attack 80 Strength 70 Defence 55+ Construction (For Portal Room) Dragon Mace Specials With Fairy Rings Method: My Personal Favorite Finding and Hunting the Kalphite Queen Now, you're setup and trying to figure out where the Might Queen is, and How to kill her, Well don't worry, I have some very simple routes right here. For whatever setup you have used, Check to see what Setup you have, then Follow the Route and Tactics. ~The Basic Way of Getting to the Kalphite Queen~ With this Route, You and your partner will both have 1 Shanty Pass, and 1 Rope each. You will both have to use 1 Rope per "Tunnel" so that You can climb Down. Now, You have made it to the Kalphite Queen, Now comes, The Fight!! With this setup, You will both Use your Saradomin Brew, Super Restore, Super Attack, Super Strength Potions, in That order. Then use the last rope on the tunnel, and go down into her lair. And you will go in with Protect from Magic and Protect Item Prayers ON. Now Just whip and Eat killing her until she turns into the Red Flying Wasp Form. Once she turns into this form. Put on your Bow and Setp back a Few Steps so that She DOES NOT melee you. Then eat and range her until dead. Then either A) Jump for Joy B) Curse your Luck. Then get your drop and Teleport out to Lumbridge, Recharge prayer, And Glory to Al Kharid. The Llyta Way of Getting to KQ | The TeleTablet Way This way is very nice, because it takes 2 less Inventory Spots, and those are very key when trying to keep maximum Sharks and Food spots, so that You can stay for the full kill. With this setup, You will both Use your Saradomin Brew, Super Restore, Super Attack, Super Strength Potions, in That order. Then use the last rope on the tunnel, and go down into her lair. And you will go in with Protect from Magic and Protect Item Prayers ON!! Once you unload your Specials into the Queen, Just use the flail for both forms until she falls, but then teleport to Llyta (or Teleport to Your House, if you have a Teletablet), you go up the ladder, and then Recharge prayer, And glory to Al Kharid. Then Repeat. With the House Tele tablet, You will recharge your Prayer, and Hopefully Have a Glory Amulet on the Wall, Which you use use to get to Al Kharid. ~The Fairy Ring Method~ Once you go onto the Fairy Ring, and Show up in Zanaris, you will Go back onto the Fairy Ring, and Go to BIQ. This will Bring you, Here: With this setup, You will both Use your Saradomin Brew, Super Restore, Super Attack, Super Strength Potions, in That order. Then use the last rope on the tunnel, and go down into her lair. And you will go in with Protect from Magic and Protect Item Prayers ON!! Once you unload your Specials into the Queen, Just use the flail for both forms until she falls. Then Teleport to your house, Recharge Prayer, And Glory back to EDGEVILLE. And Re do the Whole Process. Credits: Trojann2 - Writing Guide and Finding Info Muggiwhplar - Teaching Me KQ Many Many Moons ago. Lord_Gromit
Nice guide. What do you think of using d hally specials against the queen? And BTW, you only need 50 construction for a portal room, or 48 with tea.
ugafan_2009
Good guide. \ I wish it had a little more detail on actually fighting the queen though. Also, Verac's isn't really "high risk." With protect item you keep the full set. I guess it is a good alternative for people who can't afford, but KQ'ing isn't really for you if you can't afford Veracs. Ranging the second form is very hard unless you have very high range. OT: How many drops did it take you to get your first chain? Me and my friend are at around 30 I think(hes keeping log) Quit RS, combat 104, total 1651

1alebcay
Very nice. Good job on being specific. You might want to add some on how to actually fight her. (For alot of lower levels when they look at these guides, that is all that matters to them.) What has become of the runescape community???? :wall:There is a community? Owned_Nex
Swsome, but using D hally specials own. I use it, and I can hit up to 50 with the 3 specials, whoch is fairly good. But if you use veracs, its Not risky, as if you die, you can use protect item, and keep the full Verac. if you brought hally, then you better drop it... Dungeoneering isn't a skill. But you'd be going with someone you trust to return the helm if you do happen to die. Anyway, besides it protecting over parts of veracs, how does its special compare to the others? Lord Diddy
Good guide, maybe include techniques on how to kill her? by the way, i dont like the fairy ring method the distance from the ring to the dungeon allows you to get hit with "you are dying of thirst" and i usually get hit with a 9-11 :-k Another downside is that you cant see if anyone is kqing in the same world as you, its not pretty have 2 teams fight over a world :-# Remmber guys if you see someone kqing please hop immediatly, saves both teams emotional stress :-X 60+ runs no chain ftl

apcrump
Why do you say the dds specials are the worst way?Wouldn't they be best for poison?
Trojann2
You didn't answer last time I asked, so I'll ask again. :P What do you think of using the dragon halberd special on the queen? I'm pretty sure that it'll hit a lot more than the dragon mace specials, which you seem to like. Rune Defender + D Mace Specs with prayers = huge hits. Yea, somtimes you hit nothing. But if you get on, You hit 30 - 38 - 35 - 46. Or stuff like that... And the Rune Defender just rocks down there for hitting harder. Hally seems to be less accurate, Aswell. Why do you say the dds specials are the worst way?Wouldn't they be best for poison? Inaccurate on the Queen, Very. Wachtwoord
Nice guide. But I've always wondered: Why do you use a d mace spec? I mean, if you use a dds spec you hit twice as often, or why not using a d long spec? It's as fast as a d mace, but with higher str and att bonus. :-k EDIT: Why not a dds have already been answered #-o .
