Featured Replies

Well, I'm trying something for a new avy.

It's supposed to be a Rune 2h with Bow and Fire.

So all 3 combat types in 1 attack.

Improvements?

Tried to make the fire bigger.

I'm quite bad in pixels.

But I keep on trying!

So, improvement?

Also, what should I take, I've been thinking, but found nothing good, suggestions on that?

Quite nice actually. But make the place where you have your hand on the sword ( darn english) a bit larger, and make the fire bigger. The bow looks good and the shading on the R2h makes it look a bit round.

Really nice job, Killy :D As D said, the shading on the RTH looks rounded.

You have WAY too many colors, the piece can be done in 12 at most, unless you are using gradients, which makes it not a pixel...

you could do a rune 2h bow with a fire arrow instead

Think I'll keep that the way it is.

Fire arrow doens't have Magic, since fire arrows excist.

And Rune 2h Bow doesn't excist...

Now walk to Doric's anvil (and smith your bars to 2-handed sword) and use your sword on the whetstone. Now, if you don't already have a bowstring, refer to the Crafting guide on how to make one or just buy one from a player. Now, use your bowstring on the Slender blade. Back to the Monk with a new bow-sword in your inventory. Give the bow-sword to him and he will give you an orb back in return.

Ok, you got one major problem, and I'm shocked no one else has said anything yet. Your light source. If I'm not mistaken, fire gives off light. Unfortunately, your fire doesn't. :( The Rune 2H Sword needs more contrast, it's metal, not plastic. Your fire is bigger, but still WAY too small. And it's really mest up, try looking at fire references to capture actual fire. Make the bow longer, because right now it looks like the string is stretched beyond normal standards, which would shoot the 2H terrible, and maybe go like twelve inches, if that far. You need to work on your pallete. I'm not any better at choosing colors, but you need to know that this piece doesn't need thirty+ colors. Try doing this with your colors: base color, this is what color your object is, a highlight (noticabley brighter), and a shade (noticabley brighter). Don't do this, which is what you are doing: base color, little darker, little darker, little darker, little darker, then little lighter, etc. More is less sometimes. Some of the greatest pixelers use less than 12 colors in their entire career. Here is a topic about color that I recently found, it's a long read but it's definately helpful.

Good luck with this.
