January 1, 200719 yr G'day Folks, last night i was at a point in sydney harbour viewing the fireworks, and i took ma camera and took 284 photos  Just a few, i know, and i'll upload a few of them, a bit pressed for time now, but here are some. Took some photo's of the city aswell during the 3 hour break between the two sets of fireworks (9 and 12pm) which i'll upload later. The photos are 3000x2000 pixels, so if anybody wants one for a manip, gimme a pm. The Diamond in the middle of the bridge is an emerald, because Sydney is known as the emerald city, the theme was the wizard of oz. EDIT: Incredible boat, it had lights underwater, a massive party goin on onboard, i believe it is called the nelson. January 1, 200719 yr Very very nice. Top one is the best by far, you might want to mess around with the Levels on the others, make them much lighter. Good job.
January 1, 200719 yr I saw it on the television, my dad said that wherever you looked in the city, fireworks were everywhere :D
January 1, 200719 yr wow, didnt know you were australian remoteman  wow, learn something new every day! (im in good ol QLD) nice pictures! i was wondering what the theme was for this year. i thought it was a diamond on the bridge lol. not an emerald. my parents will like to know that, we couldnt figure out what it was sposed to mean! they had some good firework combinations this year IMO. of course, i only saw em on TV, but eh. oh well  i was actually playing cards with le bro and my parents when it struck midnight, so i was concentrating on winning... : ill stop blabbering! HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Featuring in my sig: TURT, ma pet turdle! Thanks to- Runemetsa and Aijiru for two of the great sigs!Avatar made by me
January 2, 200719 yr Author Updated, thx for the replies. All of these photo's are un-edited by the way, i'll do a bit of that when i print them off. Hiimben's right, unfortunatly i only have one camera, and the position i was in barely does justice to the amount of fireworks used. There were 5 different points around the harbour that were setting them off, it looked amazing, all synchonised, all of you deffinantly have to see new year's eve in sydney before you die :P Pyromancer; arousment over fireworks? :| (my apoligies to Hiimben, i managed the two i's and forgot the m  ) "A disbelief in magic can force some poor souls into believing in authority and business"
January 2, 200719 yr Still one person to say my name right  Anyways, my favourite part of it was the parts where the entire bridge was alight, looked like the bridge was wearing a crown of fire or it's hair was burning :) I went to the one in the beginning of 2005 and it was pretty good :D I might try make the ones this year :D
January 2, 200719 yr Niceness, great photography skills. Unfortunately I couldnt make it to the fireworks, i saw it on TV though lol. ~Guide to Solo'ing the KBD~ 99 Cooking | 99 Firemaking | 99 Attack | 99 defense | 99 Hitpoints
January 2, 200719 yr Pretty good shots. What technique did you use for shooting them? Next year at bonfire night I'm going to go along to Calander Park with my tripod, a black card, loads of compact flash and XD cards, my cable release and my camera. The technique I will use is long shutter speeds - Tripod and cable release needed. But when the photo is being taken and no fireworks are being exploded, I'll put the black card infront of the lens to prevent overexposure during the long shot, and each time a firework explodes, the black card will come away from the lens. This keeps going for maybe 30 seconds to a minute. That's how you get loads of fireworks. But for your firework display there it looked very regimented so that technique might not have been so useful. Why don't I have any shots of fireworks from the new year? I live in Scotland, where New Year was cancelled  Happy New year! Photos!
January 2, 200719 yr I saw that on t.v! :) Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-I took the one less traveled by,And that has made all the difference.
January 3, 200719 yr Author Greenslime: I had my camera on a tripod using a remote control, the next step up from a cable release 8-). Unfortunatly most of the fireworks were in the same place and in blocks, so a longer shutter relase wouldn't have really helped, except possibly on the bridge ones. The exposure time was around half a second to a second for each shot i think. Thx for all the comments guys "A disbelief in magic can force some poor souls into believing in authority and business"
