Very sorry Faelenof. Been really busy this week (and my ceiling collapsed which didn't help the situation XD) and to be perfectly honest I completely forgot about it. Not really much of an excuse though since I could have done it in the first week so I'm very sorry. Good luck to those who did enter.

Like I said before in my last post (no one cared?) I'll be willing to judge/teach be a student or whatever. Put me where you think I'll be most useful.

I did something like this last year (as a pupil), it really helped a lot of people out(probably not me since I didn't put much effort into my assignments(as usual :roll: )). We had assignments which were then graded, the teachers us told how to improve and we were given given technique information to read and then set another assignment. There were beginner novice and advanced classes (not sure they had those names, but of that effect anyway.) and if your grades were of a certain standard you were moved up a class. Unfortunatly it only lasted one "term" before the brains behind the project mysteriously disappeared, but it did work anyway. So yea go for it, I'd be willing to help out and/or participate.

Seems the problem was nero, I just installed a trial of alcohol 120% and burnt off the Ubuntu bootable with no problems, I'm on it as we speak :thumbsup:

Yea I've have changed the boot order. Not exactly sure what you mean by a retail pc but mine is custom built...

:-k I still can't boot from particular cds it seems... Happened a while back but I just got on with my life, now its really annoying me... Does anyone know why when I boot from cds it just comes up with DR DOS? Except one cd, containing Windows Nemesis 3 (not particularly useful...)

Thanks guys, just burning off a Ubuntu cd now. Their slogan of "linux for human beings" appealed to me somewhat... :)

Would a good old system restore not sort that out?

Basically, I'd like to try something different to windows/mac os, more out of curiousity than anything. I guess I would dual boot it (or boot it directly from cd? :-k ). I'd just like to know what people would recommend to someone completely new to everything other than windows.

To be honest that babys foot tattoo just looks like a smudge, I had no idea what it was until I read the text. My dad has a tattoo of Taz (the cartoon character) on his back and he hates it :lol: I want to get a powerful runic tattoo on my wrist someday, don't know when I'll get around to it and I havn't decided which runes yet, but I'll do it one day...
