January 1, 200719 yr What do you think? I'm still learning how to do faces, not to mention the creepy lips. Anyways, what do you think? Any suggestions, or suggestions for a background? I do realize she has a big head, or big eyes? Well something up there is big lol, i dunno what it is. Anyways, here it is. Had to post a link cause it's huge...: Girl Thanks. :D This was done in photoshop. Note: The number at the top is just the hex color.
January 1, 200719 yr Author Nice job, I am assuming this was made on a tablet + photoshop? Thanks. :D Yeah, it would be like...impossible for me to do the shading and hair without a tablet. And i used photoshop.

January 1, 200719 yr Hmm, I can't decide... one the one hand its a great example of anime linework... On the other the skin tones you used for the face almost makes the person look rubbery or plastic... your highlights are too bright imo It would look fine in say... a drawing where the woman just popped outa the water... it almost looks like liquid to me... I dunno just my thought New sigzor^^

January 2, 200719 yr I made a quick edit... hope you don't mind :-w imo with these colors it takes a more... hmm flesh tone quality.. When i first changed her over she looked a bit beaton up... I decided to edit that too... hope you don't mind... I won't make anymore edits... I am starting to really wish i had bought a tablet With the second edit i killed a few of your highlights... which doesn't make it look as good as it probably would have New sigzor^^
January 2, 200719 yr Clean up your colours, don't leave those white pixels everywhere on the line art. Don't use white to highlight skin. Use a lighter colour. And clean up more on your line art, don't leave colours outside the line art, where it is not supposed to be.

And clean up more on your line art, don't leave colours outside the line art, where it is not supposed to be. I blend the white in, though i did leave some white on the skin. And i'm not full done, i havn't gone in a made it neat or anything.

I can never really seem to find the right skin color. Thanks, you've givin me a great idea.
January 2, 200719 yr your welcome... normally if you want to get darker skin tones you can just use the burn tool in photoshop... its a great time saver  New sigzor^^
January 2, 200719 yr Can I get her phone number? :-w Only thing that I didn't see mentioned was that the lips look kinda sloppy :?
January 2, 200719 yr http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=565825 If you have some problems with line art :P
January 2, 200719 yr I think the problem with the look of her being "plasticy" (as a few others pointed out) is that it looks like you've used the smudge tool a lot (forgive me if you haven't, but that's what it looks like :ohnoes: ). Personally, I try my best to stay away from it. The Photoshop smudge tool generally isn't that good. Instead, I just stick to changing the flow percentage, which I find to be much better. Instead of just smudging the image, which will make it look plasticy and overall.. just fake, try lowering the opacity/flow of the brush, which will help different colours/shades blend well together. Also, it keeps the image a lot cleaner, and in some senses, more defined. There are many parts of your picture that are pretty messy, which I think is because of the smudge tool. In example, much of the shading on the face. Also, as someone pointed out earlier, try to stay inside the lines! I understand that you might be cleaning it up at the end, which many people do, but I just thought I'd remind you just in case  Fill in some of the many white spots in her hair and clean up the areas where two different things meet (i.e. where her legs meet with the bottom of her skirt). Nazgul mentioned earlier to use the burn tool.. I would actually advise you to stay away from it :ohnoes: Yes, it can be an easy solution, but I wouldn't recommend using it for anything other than touching up photos. Just using a darker brush shade makes you have a lot more control over how you want the picture to look! I think the lineart looks great. The only thing you might want to consider changing is her waist/stomach. She looks mighty skinny to me! Hope some of that helped! :ohnoes: EDIT: Oh, and maybe add some more shading to her hair. The shading with the thin strands of hair looks great, but maybe some darker colour overlays in certain spots (i.e. the hair that falls behind her back). I just ment if the whole image was too light... you could easily use it to darken the whole thing... making some darker then others and such New sigzor^^

You have very little control over how you use the burn tool, especially if you're using it in mass amounts. If you wanted to darken the whole thing, you best bet would probably be to use the Darkness/Contrast feature :-k - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
January 3, 200719 yr Well your probably right... i haven't ever spent much time painting... I'll drop you a pm somtime and we can discuss it... I find the that useing a large brush and controlling how long the brush is held down i can shade in small areas where i want... or I can use the magic box tool (dunno what its really called lol) to find specific areas that need attention... but you are probably right about it New sigzor^^

This was very helpful! And i do think you're right. I use the smudge tool a lot, and now that i think of it, it would and did make it look plasticy. Thanks so much! I'll use darker shades. And yeah, i've learned to stay away from the burn tool. I usually use darker shades, but i'll experiment! I really understand what you're saying. You may have just saved me from years of trouble! Thanks! =) Thanks too everyone. *Phew* Maybe, i can fix this up. :P
January 3, 200719 yr Author Well, i don't know so much about drawing, but that hair is awesome! Thanks. =)
