I'm kind of looking towards the genre who drive on this Forum. But if you find anything good to ask, and you know the answer 100%, please then post.

Ok, so I am going into the DMV tomorrow to take the test in-order to get my permit. I'm pretty nervous, but I am confident I will do well. Too much confidence might mess me up :?, so I'm trying to not be overly-confident.

I have been studying, and I took Driver's Ed before I even get my permit. I passed D.E :D. I'm studying all over the Internet, and looking at my state HandBook. I just want to make sure I am ready, and I was hoping people on here could ask me some questions, and I could answer them. Try to make it questions about general stuff. Not stuff about your states laws because they tend to differ in other states.

EXAMPLE QUESTION:

Tip.Iter: "What does BAC stand for?"

Me: "BAC stands for 'Blood Alcohol Concentration'."

Try to do at least a couple questions, so it doesn't lead to spam. I will try to answer questions in complete sentences.

You can do multiple choice questions:

EXAMPLE QUESTION:

Tip.Iter: "What does BAC stand for?"

A. Blood Alcohol Content

B. Bob Ate Crackers

C. Blood Alcohol Concentration

Me: "C.; Blood Alcohol Concentration."

If people do post multiple choice questions, try to not make the answer obvious. I want a challenge :D.

Thanks to all who post questions! I will also take any tips/suggestions people might have too. While I am waiting for replies, I'll be browsing other sites, and studying!

Thanks all! Happy New Year.

A childs ball runs onto the road. You are driving at 50mph. There is a car very near your rear end. You do not know whether the child is going to chase the ball onto the road or not and if you carry on at the speed you do, you will most likely hit the child.

Do you:

A: Slow down alot, possibly causing the car behind you to crash into your rear?

B: Gradually slow down, taking a risk of hitting the child.

C: Speed up, breaking the speed limit, trying to get there before the child does.

D: Attempt to flag the car behind you, telling him to slow down, then you slow down.

Hope it puts you into a state of mind.

What is the speed limit in a residential area?

And just for some extra practice, let's do some T/F qustions...

Passing another vehicle in an intersection is legal. ____

A cop can pull you over for doing 1 mp/h over the speed limit. ____

A: Slow down alot, possibly causing the car behind you to crash into your rear. I would rather damage my car, then hurt/kill the kid.

I wouldn't want to speed either. It's breaking the law.

D could also work, but I don't think the person would understand what I was doing :)

False; Illegal.

A cop can pull you over for doing 1 mp/h over the speed limit.

Depends on what occasion is happening. If it's Zero Tolerence Day, then yes. But otherwise; False.

You did really good other than this one. An uncontrolled intersection is an intersection containing no stop lights, stop signs, yield signs, or anything else to control traffic.

i have my permit right now as well, but i dont have any good questions

some advice i can offer however, is be calm, you'll do fine

The test for the permit, at least in my state, is EXTREMELY easy- know some easy signs and a couple of laws, AND they let you take it as many times as you needed to pass.. which makes you wonder :-k

the guy who got his permit before me FAILED the test 4 times, passed the 5th and got his permit :wall: :wall:

so if youve taken drivers ED already, it should be a breeze

PS- the 1st two questions are your age and birthday... :D

I'm just waiting until i'm 18 to get my License... I don't feel like bothering with a permit.

In Iowa, you can take the test once every day if you fail. And you need your permit to take drivers ed. But all in all the test was pretty easy. Just be sure not to misread questions. That's basically why I failed my first try. But me neighbor.. She failed I think 3 or 4 times before she got hers  She's proven to be a better driver than she is at taking tests :P

the permit test is the biggest joke in the world.

if you fail it, you're either mentally challenged, or you did it blindfolded.

don't even be nervous, the questions are basic.

Ok, well I feel good, and I can't wait until tomorrow. Thanks for all the questions everyone. If anyone comes up with anymore, please post some . I hope one of the questions is what is my soc. security #. I learned it by heart :D.

you'll memorize it wqhen you're in college.

they make you use it for EVERYTHING

that, or for me, my Uconn ID number

Pretty basic but..

If two cars pull up to a stop sign, both going straight (not across from each other). Who has the right of way to go first? The car on the right, or the car on the left?

I remember doing this a while back.

I dunno where you are, but where I was you could take the test as many times as you wanted that same day until you passed. Of course I didn't know that until after I had studied my [wagon] off. But then I passed the first time so I guess it was kind of worth it.

Passing another vehicle in an intersection isn't illegal to my knowledge, but changing lanes in an intersection is. So that would mean changing lanes to pass a vehicle while in an intersection is illegal.

And also, to my knowledge, a police officer can pull you over for going 1 mph over the speed limit. The speed limit, technically, is the fastest you should be going, as that is the upper limit placed on the speed for the given situation. So, based on that logic, one should actually proceed at a speed less than the posted speed limit to be in accordance to laws. But nobody does this, and I highly doubt tickets are issued for going 1 mph over the speed limit.

And I took my permit test in Nevada, and there were some trick questions on there, so pay close attention to the wording of them. It's been a long time though...

The car on the right always has the right-away. :)
