emxemx
Hopefully this is a new suggestion, and this is mainly for discussion or whatever, because I guess it would annoy a load of people thinking about it. Anyway, I've been reading loads in the complaints forums about PC products. I don't actually mind that much, but a suggestion for the people who do is this. Pest Control points should only reward exp in the combat stat up to Level 70 (or is this too high?). Anyone with their combat stats over 70 still get the points and money, they just can't use the points for leveling up. And there would still be things for them to play for. Maybe that would slow down the rate people get their 99s. Just an idea I thought of while running runes. Oh, and please don't flame me, I have nothing against so called PC products, (I understand both sides of the argument, and am currently sitting on the fence) I'd just like to hear people's opinions on this. mrmyk
many people would hate this but i like it :P after 70 there is much more profitable ways to train and it would be much better in my opinion. Doughnut
Pest Control was put there as an easier way to train. Pures use it a lot because it is a cost effective way of training. I have no trouble with people using pc. Sure a pure can get 99 strength a lot easier, but they do so at the cost of 5-10 hit points. Jagex though pest control through thoroughly before putting it in. Just because you don't want to use it doesn't mean other people can't. junkiejeff
There also are allot of posts about Pest Control on runescape official forum. Even if you dont get PC points, you still can get lot's of exp without spending any money on food, because you respawn at the ship. I think around lvl 90 would be OK
The_Gabe
that idea stinks Three months banishment to 9gag is something i would never wish upon anybody, not even my worst enemy.

Haitovich
And destroy other people's fun? I find it fun to play =) (Don't judge me, I'm not a PC product I only use it for prayer :P) It's their choice how to level isn't it? If they like xp over rewards let them be. If there are too many high level inmature people, let them be. so are hundreds of not-that-high-level people, but I bet you don't care about them do you? MY BEST ITEM IS A BRONSE COIN! dargonhuman
Jagex thought pest control through thoroughly before putting it in. Yeah...just like they thought Pure Ess through thoroughly before putting that in. Suuuure. Pest Control may have sounded good on the drawing board, but in practice, it's hurting the RS community more than it's benifiting it by churning out dozens of new, immature 126's every week. Experience is more than the number of points you get for bashing monster with your sword; real experience is what happens when you actually have to work for something - and risk losing that something - rather than have it all handed to you in a nice safe box. A lvl 70 cap on PC would be wonderful, but probably not enough; in the Rants forum, there's another thread discussing the flaws of PC, and one of the suggestions is that instead of being paid gp to play PC, it should cost gp to play PC. Having an entrance fee coupled with a level cap would solve many of the so-called "PC product" problems by forcing PC players to actually step out of the Void Knight outpost and find other training options to get that illustrious 99 skill or 126 combat level, and maybe in the process, would let them get enough experience to gain a Maturity lvl or two. scruffyo99
that idea stinks Gabe, you should add some constructive criticism if you dont like the idea. I think this idea is alright, but I think the combat level that stops getting exp from PC should be more like 80 or 90. 70 to me is a little low. 100% F2P- 70 CB, My goal of 1100 total level- My goal for 1100 total f2pTFS Leader - http://z11.invisionfree.com/TTFS/index.php? Cryptogram
Listen, if you stopped getting xp from pest control points at a certain level, why would you be playing it at all except for the very reason you are complaining about? You would just end up being a "level 70 pc product" or a "level 90 pc product". Whatever. Introducing new items to buy is pretty pointless, since you currently need 250 pc points to buy one sad little item which has very little value regarding stat bonuses, and imo isn't worth the time or effort to obtain. As for the term "pc product", who cares where or how a person levels up so long as it's not breaking the rules? I think most people using this term are probably envious of high CB levels, and do not realise just how long it takes to level up even with the use of pest control. Also, pest control does nothing to level up all the other skills that are part of life in Runescape - there is so much more to it than fighting. High combat levels, however obtained, are not a great deal of use for anything but fighting (it does make the slayer skill more rewarding I suppose), which is only a fraction of the whole game. Personally, I didn't play pc once before I was combat 100, and have used it only for level boosting and a little income. Capping combat levels is pointless, unless you're talking about having different level games for different level people. That, imho, would definitely be welcome, as then you wouldn't get all the low level parasites that come into a good world, get their fifty, and then just stand around like the waste of space they are. emxemx
70 was just an idea, coz I wasn't sure what would be best. It's great to hear everyone's opinions - now I'm not sure which side I'm on :-k
Cryptogram
Well, I seriously think different level pc games would be better. Like Combat 40-69, 70-99 and 100+. Of course, the combat levels of the monsters and the portal hitpoints could be adjusted too. Don't follow me.
