Quests...

Remember back in the good old days. Life was simple. Nice quests like underground pass. All these just memories for most.

Now compare older quests to the new ones sure the new ones have better graphics and cut scenes. Thats all hot to trot but the quests are well...just aren't as good.

1. They are way to easy

2. With the easyness there is really no reward for doing the quest

3. Jagex isn't finishing there multi part quests

Well I'll hit point one first, and its pretty self explanatory. There just aren't good challenging quests for high level. Sure losts of new people are coming in, so mosts people are below 70 combat and/or have lower skills. I understand all that but really Jagex needs to work on keeping there old players too. The recent quest have required higher levels than others but not a big challenge in the combat/omg im going to die area.

Now im done with that ya all understand the first point (I hope). Anyways, point 2. Other than quest cape and taking the lazy mans way for tears of guthix instead of getting 100k exp. What does 1.5k woodcutting exp do for a level 83 woodcutter like me? Really the reward is a little quest point.

I could go on about that for along time but now its for the part that upsets me the most. There are several of unfinished multi-part quests that need to be finished, and they just make boring little quests that are well as I have already said, not that good. Like for example "Eyes of Glouphrie, The". A good quest one that is recent and somewhat good. But wheres the next installment. Im not going to give details to spoil it but its good.

"Slug Menace" is another one. It wasn't a good quest (to me) but wheres the next one, they can make that one better.

Anyways I was just wondering how all you tipsters feel about the quests.

i sure do agree with you there though about jagex needing to finish up multi quest story lines but relax give them time they can only do so much

anyways in some cases the exp rewards need to be uped some but then again like your pointing out the quests arent as hard anymore so why give more exp for less difficulty

and for the quests that are hard they have the good exp rewards to go with them

overall jagex is doing a just fine job on the quests, for the most part

jagex is a company i suppose

1) for the too easy part, i dont think they are all too easy, jagex is trying to be accomodating to new members but im hoping that this new "high combat quest" is going to show a more quests aimed towards higher lvls, but i doubt low leve quests will ever stop continuing to come out

2) eh, there are a few good rewards, then again, if they made it too good... it might unbalance the economy... so i would prefer a more conservative approach to the rewards

anyways i dont think the point of quests is to gain exp necessarily

most new quests seem to be aimed at adding some new interesting aspects (the attractor, some balloons etc...)

3) but i do agree... finish bloody questlines rawr :o

The first two really don't mean much to me...I do quests for the fun of it, for the most part.

It's the third point that i agree with the most...When a quest just cuts off (Slug Menace), it bugs me that the next installment hasn't come out yet for me to try and get through yet. It makes me feel like i had to stop reading a good story and burn the rest of the book, then wait for the author to rewrite it so that i can finish it...

1. I will agree with you that some of the new quests that come out are easy but there have to be some easy quests on the site. I do not think that I would have started doing the quests in the first place if all of them were very difficult. There has to be something for the people that do not really do quests and just want to have a small good time. And you can not put down quest just because it is easy. The sheep herding one is one of the easiest ones in the game and also does not have a very good reward for doing it but it also happens to be a requisite for a ton of quests and is the beginning of the road to the hardest quest in the game (imo).

2. Some easy quests have very nice experience rewards. And you never know what other quests are going to branch off from them in the future. -points to sheep herding quest again-

3. After you make a game site that has complex multi-stage quests where all of the steps get put up at the same time with no bugs in any part of the quests, you can come here and complain about quest lines not being done. Til then, step back. =;

They need time to develop the plot. Seriously, all of the planning and coding takes time and effort if you want it to be any good.

The problem is that Jagex needs to "appeal to the masses." That means that they need to make quests, skills, ect that are usable and possible by the average player. Jagex can't focus too much on the players with high abilities because not many people will be able to use them...

don't worry, you are going to "hell" anyway. wanna race to see who gets there first?

Yer, lets hope that the new quest will have half decent rewards, monkey madness is pretty much the only quest with decent xp rewards, and they aren't too flash for anyone 100cb+. A combat level req would be good for hard quests, so that they could give out decent xp that low levels wouldn't utilise to gain 30 levels at once.

My level 76 friend finished Monkey Madness before me. It is not hard. It is just annoying.

And I am looking forward to the new high level quest that is coming out. I am kind of hoping that there is going to be some kind of puzzle involved. I can kill things any day in the game. There are not a lot of puzzles in the game and having one in the quest would give me a good chance to stretch my brain muscles.

And that's a big problem with RS these days...everyone's all about xp, and lvls, and money, rarely does anyone do anything just for fun. That's why I do quest, I couldn't care less what the reward is if it's a fun quest *cough*Darkness of Hallowvale*cough*. And about finishing storylines, be patient. They'll be finished and new ones will come out soon enough.

Finish the Myreque storyline Jagex...you know you want to

Hey. I liked the Hallowvale quest. I thought that it was a lot of fun. Then again, I think most are fun. :P

I agree with you on your other point. Too many people only see the game in terms of experience and the money. They don't see that it is just a game, and since it is just that, you are supposed to be having fun doing it.

And it would be nice if they finished that plot line wouldn't it.

I'm not a massive fan of quests. I only tend to do them if there's an item that I need or an area that I need access to.

I would like Jagex to increase the experience rewards for their future quests. When you consider the time it takes to complete a quest... the reward often isn't enough.

um...well, this is a little odd

You referenced quests in the past i believe, then started complaining. Undreground pass, wasn't THAT hard...why didn't u complain then? You complained about not finishing storylines...why didn't you complain after it took forever before mep1 was released...They've been building up their stock in storyline quests so they can do them over time. What they want is to have enough people doing them, and that requires them being out there with no pressure to move to the next one. Moving on to number one, lately the quests have been a little easy, but i guess you failed to read behind the scenes january. Notice that almost every person you see with a quest cape is at least 85+ cbt...thats pretty high level, usually they're 90+, obviously if quests in the long run were to easy, 60+ would have em. You're complaining about tears of guthix. Well i'm sorry that that quests reward doesn't suit YOU in particular, sorry that it has to help the majority of the game getting their farming, or hunter or construction up, i don't wanna be rude, but all this is focused on how things orbit around you in particular, not quests in general, not all the parts of this, but some of it. just out of curiosity, did u find MEP2 easy? Did you find Sheap Shearer easy? dunno bout u, but i keep on dying on that one :ohnoes: .
