January 18, 200719 yr Why get Life rank if you don't plan on getting Eagle? Eagle Scout does look great on college resumes and job applications; I'm sure it helped out on my app's.
January 18, 200719 yr ok im in boy scouts... im life (rank before eagle for those who don't know) what is the point of eagle ohh wow i have a badge and a certificate ect..... but is there anything else... i dont see the point in getting it College/Uni. \ I know a girl who was a girl scout and leader since her senor year in high school, and she got a scholarship for it. But I quit boyscouts when I was like 10... Me doing staff.
January 19, 200719 yr Why get a black belt if your almost there? Because its the cherry on top of the sundae! Plus eagle goes on applications and such. Another thing is you don't have to stop after eagle. Sure you might have hit the top but you can still help others accomplish the same achievement you have done. The things you learn along the way can come in handy and even if you don't use them one day then at least you learned that one more thing in life.
January 19, 200719 yr Being a boy scout helps a lot on job resumes. That certificate is pretty important, just gte it, it doed you no harm ^Sir Jem 05-The Bunny Drinking Blog?^ Click it!
January 19, 200719 yr Do you want to look back at your life and only be able to count on one hand what you've accomplished? I'm pretty sure I got my current job because I am an Eagle Scout, if that helps your decision any. Plus, you're at Life... There's no reason to quit now.
January 19, 200719 yr I just got Eagle last summer. I was in scouts probably 6 years before I got life. I was in it 7 when I got Eagle but I could have completed it a lot sooner. Why spend all that time getting Life just to skip out and not get Eagle. The only hard thing is getting the project done and that still isn't too bad. The great thing about Eagle is that people actually recognize it. If someone sees that on a resume or application that automatically tells them that you have a good set of values and morals, just from what scouting teaches. Its worth it in lots of ways so go for it!
January 19, 200719 yr I don't know exactly how the American system works but if it's similar to the British system then it's a brilliant thing to do. It teaches you so many essential life skills and really broadens your mind. I only left my scout group because I didn't get on at all with the leader. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"

January 20, 200719 yr Becoming an Eagle Scout is a huge honor, and, as everyone else has said, looks really good on resumes. The code in my sig should say 1032 not 0132.
