terley
well I did this for a demonstration.. But I think it's a good distraction from all this pivot malarky.. stick figures are terrible, but this is how I'd animate them.. decided it was a shame not to do something with it, fixed much of the mistakes bumped it up to 8 frames, dont think any more is necissery.. if I have more time i'll add more to this, and even maybe add more pixel animations to this thread, I need I way to practice this animation stuff.. without steering away from pixeling, im just too addicted  . well any comments welcome, and if anyone has any animation tips i'd love to hear em. heres it frame by frame. If anyone wants to crit em individually.
Hevendor_Guy
Not bad for an 8-framer. Background and ground could use some work, just looks very flat. There's cake through here, apparently.
terley
ive currently got no intention of making a background or changing the ground. the point of it is supposed to be a two toned animation, two colours. but I decided to do a bit of aaing to smoothen it out, kept to 5 colours. id like to point out, because some how its not obvious.. it isn't suppsosed to be highly detailed, it is what you see. either critique on the pixeling itself (use of AA and colour etc) or the animation. terley
it's easy when you break it down for yourself. draw the first frame. the last frame. the key frame (in this case the moment of impact punching) and then just break it down further by drawing half way between each. thats the basic way to animate, but it does get more complicated than that, theres everything to consider. Ive used all sorts of animating programs, its just that imageready's on all the computers I use and you kinda just get used to it.. but animation isn't pixel based haha, try get hold of flash, it's much funner to use if your a beginner. pandaownage
ok got it but say i want to animate those frames. How would I do that? Is it the program Kuroi was talking about?
xxxShade
It looks very nice especially the fall animation. I like the colors and AA, but I think you should change the fist shape from a circle to a different shape that more mirrors an actual hand. Kuroi_Ame
Hmm, I'll try but I don't really have an animation that I could use in the example. I'll get something cooked up tomorrow, I guess. Can't hurt, I suppose. do u wow?Cassiius|Level 70 Night Elf Preist|RunetotemSambora|Level 37 Tauren Shaman|BurningLegion
woopidoo2
Great animation, I can really feel the impact of the punch. And, it is very small in size, only 5,8kb =D> [http://woopidoo2.deviantart.com][Tip.it Moderator from Dec 10, 2006 to 03 Sep, 2008]
remoteman
Very cool, very smooth for an 8 framer. I love how the expression changes on the victims face, hilarious and we have a decent standard for stick figures at last : I hope to see more. Korla
love frames 3 and 4. awesome poses on the right guy, I can feel him building up energy there :) and frame 6, again, the right guy, the sense of depth is awesome. the tempo is fine I suppose, dunno if the guy falls slightly slow-motion, hard to tell, I don't often see people fall over from being pwned n the face ;) I really like it, the only thing I can ask is that you make some more of the lef guy getting back up to make it loop nicely, wouldn't say much more about your skill at pixeling, but makes me enjoy it so much more in a simpler way if you will :D
