January 28, 200719 yr Windows Vista Very expensive unless you get the upgrade. Will you be getting it?
January 28, 200719 yr Those prices aren't that suprising. I personally find it more interesting that PC World (UK) and others are still selling Windows XP for ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã199 (near enough $400).

January 28, 200719 yr I personally find it more interesting that PC World (UK) and others are still selling Windows XP for ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã199 (near enough $400). You guys are getting shafted by MS. XP Pro is still only about $230 for the retail box here in the states. About $140 for an OEM copy. Gotta love companies that don't use exchange rates.
January 28, 200719 yr I don't see what is so outrageous about those prices considering it will last you through 2 or 3 computers. Also considering it cost 650$ just for photoshop. click here
January 29, 200719 yr There isnt much difference between the versions of Vista, believe it or not, at first they came up with 8 different versions. The difference is the same as the difference between XP Home & XP Pro, almost no difference but some extra features. BTW, i was wondering if you are going 2 get the 32-Bit version or the 64-Bit version?
January 29, 200719 yr I think anyone who is even thinking about buying vista should look at THIS, thats a good way to knock some sense into you! And if you don't believe that look HERE! Stat Progress | Stat Averages | Stat Records
January 29, 200719 yr The price of Windows Vista argument is flawed. Here is a post, quoted from HardForum: Windows XP launced in 2001. It's prices were: Home - $200 Media Center - no MSRP (MCE is usually priced between Home and Pro, we'll pretend it's $250.) Professional - $300 Windows Vista Launches next month. It's prices are: Home Basic - $200 Home Premium - $240 Business - $300 Vista costs the same as XP; the only exception is Home Premium since MCE has no MSRP, but it is usually priced between Home and Pro on Newegg. People, it has bee five years since Windows XP was launched; assuming a sub-standard inflation rate of 5% per year, Vista should cost: Home Basic - $255 Home Premium - $320 Business - $382 STOP COMPLAINING that Vista is so expensive! It costs the same and Windows XP did in 2001, and by all rights should cost more based on inflation and the rise in computer hardware prices. I'm so tired of people trying to justify piracy and MS bashing based on Vista's price. Vista costs less than it should, please stop complaining. Click here to see the whole thread. Also, upgrade prices are as follows: Ultimate: $259.00 Business: $199.00 Home Premium: $159.00 Home Basic: $99.95 Most people will not be buying full versions of Vista. They will either be buying new computers that come with Vista/the free upgrade to Vista, or the upgrade version.
January 29, 200719 yr Vista is not more than XP, if you buy an OEM copy :D . Windows Vista Home Premium for $120 :)
January 29, 200719 yr Vista is not more than XP, if you buy an OEM copy :D . Windows Vista Home Premium for $120 :) However, to be within the terms of the license: - You have to buy it at the same time as a 'non-peripheral' item (HDD, CPU, etc.) - It is completely non-transferable between different computers - and for this purpose a new motherboard counts as a different computer. That means you can't upgrade your motherboard and install it again.
