deloriagod
I'm looking for some serious rap/hiphop. I'm looking for songs/artists that talk about more serious issues than how big their gf's butt is or how much 'ice' they have. Songs like "When I'm Gone" by Eminem. That song talks about how his career takes a serious toll on his family, not about the amazing things he can waste his money on. Anybody know some good songs/artists? If you dig songs about political issues I would definetly reccomend Rage Against the Machine. Thier lyrics are hip-hop and the music is basically rock, but it is amazing. In my opinion, the lyricists lyrics are the best and most well 'rapped' I have ever heard.
i123i
basically you want more underground style rap? You might want to check out wikipedia for good underground artists as a start and move onto google from there, try looking through rap battle forums to find something that might be similiar to this for that type of style Sorry I couldn't give specifics but atleast it's a lil help I went through that stage of wanting that type of music too before I couldn't find whole alb-well, forget that I can't continue saying much more but I couldn't find whole albums and went back to mainstream. Good luck on your search

timmay929
Listen to any older rap. Tupac would be a good person to listen to. Older Eminem sings mostly about drugs, but they are much better than new Eminem. Also, anything off Illmatic by Nas is extremely good. I have more where that came from. 122 Combat : 99 Hits : 99 Attack : 99 Strength97/99 Defence : 99 Fletching : 99 Woodcutting
1_man_army
If your looking for stuff like that Id recommend anything by 2pac, Nas, A Tribe Called Quest, Public Enemy, The Fugees, Talib Kweli, Common (aka Common Sense), Dilated Peoples. Also look up a track called "All That I Got Is You" by GhostFace Killah its an amazing track. Edit almost forgot Lupe Fiasco, I got his album (Food & Liquor) a week or so ago and its pretty good. Chocobodude0
t3h 3-6 mafiya !!!!...I was j/k, for real, for your own safety, and for the honor of hip-hop, don't... On a serious note, 2Pac's Keep ya head up, I ain't mad at 'cha, all that stuff, 'Pac's the greatest. The only thing better would be Wu-Tang. Everything off their first album (36 chambers) is awesome. C.R.E.A.M. (Cash Rules Everything Around Me) is one of the deepest, realest songs I've ever heard. Get it!
