February 6, 200719 yr Lets compare this situation to something which you might not be as ignorant about. Lets say car A has decent gas mileage, warranty, fits a lot of people etc and its $20,000. Then lets say car B can fly to the moon and cost $5,000,000. Which can the average consumer afford? BUT, which is better? Yes, that would be true, though I don't see the PS3 taking off any time soon. The reason the other car is so much its a more updated car, just like the Wii, it has something more to offer than the model before it, the PS3 however, is a standard, traditional gaming system, sure it has several new gadgets in it, but they do absolutly nothing to improve gaming and game play. ~^v^~Ex-Leader of the Divine Flames of Redemption~^v^~
February 6, 200719 yr 1080p is considered full-HD. 720p and 1080i are both HD, just not full HD.That is what I meant nintendo has recently been coming up with ways to play a game than just sitting on your couch and staring at whatever screen, so they invented a handheld game with TWO screens AND it can fit in an average sized pocket. sure it may not be able to play movies or music like the PSP but when someone buys a game system, who buys one to watch movies for listen to music? we've already got ipods and portable DVD's. sony has been improving on graphics rather than gameplay IMO. the PSP is just a portable PS2 Rolling Eyes i dont thank i've seen a PSP game that you cant get on the PS2 or PS3 its nothing new just a portable PS2. if i wanted to listen to music while playing games i'd get an ipod its not that big of a deal so who wins? the nintendo DS of course How does the DS win? because it has a touch screen? a PSP can play movies, songs and much more high quality games and its all-in-one, sure they already have iPods and portable DVD players but can you get them both into one 200 dollar device that fits into your pocket? thats like saying it is pointless to have indoor bathrooms since you can go do it in a hole in the ground. Its just not as convenient Yes, that would be true, though I don't see the PS3 taking off any time soon. You could say it had a metaphorical meaning. The car being able to go to the moon could be compared to blu-ray. Both are pretty much pointless to the average consumer, the only thing they do is boost your experience but they both are the reason for the high priced product. Every thing in the PS3 is meant for improved gameplay. The blu-ray drive can enable developers to make MASSIVE games(MGS wants to use the full 50Gigs) and allows consumers to play in HD. The wireless and six-axis controller allows users to play without cords and be able to just tilt your controller for movement without getting up. 485th person to ever play RuneScapeBlue107- perm banned 10/12/2007. $300 USD reward if you can get me in contact with someone who will take 5 seconds to look at evidence and get my original character unbanned.

February 6, 200719 yr The PS3 can play regular DVDs, and blu-ray movies cost about 3 dollars more then a reg at best buy. Also the 360 cannot play 1080p, which is considered HD without an external $200 disc drive Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't they updating/did update and send a patch that allows you to play the 360 in 1080p? Nonetheless I think it is still a little too early to tell what PS3 is going to be like later. However, and we can all agree on this, the launch sucked.

February 7, 200719 yr Xbox controllers... Ahh... Ohh... Your thumbs only start hurting after 3 straight hours of playing... And your trigger fingers start hurting after about 5 straight hours... Too bad that it gets so slippery after a while... I hope that sweat can't get to the stuff inside the controller and kill it... I'm going to get a controller scepter... And in spring break, I'll make a gaming throne... Losers...Are you blind or ignoring me on purpose?Even though I sometimes side with religious people in some debates, I no longer consider myself religious.
February 7, 200719 yr well im gonna have to say the psp is the better hand held the ds is good but the 2 screens make it hard to play some games take the legend of aang for example whilst fighting enemy's if you are running low on health you have to drag a potatoe onto your character so you have to look at the bottom screen whilst your being beat up and before you know it your dead. The ds has picto-chat though wich i find fun when your talking to freinds and family. I like my game on one screen so i know what im doing and i just find the psp's games more appealing than the ds's so thats why i think psp is better.
February 7, 200719 yr I love my new DS. I'd get a PSP, except it doesn't have any good games. Except for T5:DR. I'd get it for that. It's really hard to see how the PS3 is going to fare in the long run. Although they had a bad launch, all the good games are coming out in the coming years. We'll just have to wait and see, I guess. ==================================Retired tip.it moderator.Teaching and inspiring.
February 7, 200719 yr I believe PS3 is worth every cent. It all depends on what you use the system for. If you a person who's into movies and games and wants to move onto the HD theme then by saying the PS3 is over priced, your crazy!(I can explain why if needed) But if you wanna be a gamer and a gamer only sure the PS3 is a little over priced. :-s You make absolutely no sense. Im into movies, but it's not as if you can download them over live like on the '360. It's not as if you can use your own regular or HD movies, oh no, instead you have to buy blue ray movies for even more money! "Move onto the HD them" is exactly what I want, so I went for the Xbox 360 which has over 10x the HD Games & Movies than the PS3. Now for the games, your better off going for the 360 because it have so many more exclusives, a prefected Xbox Live (Granted, you do have to pay for the 360 Live though, a minor drawback in my opinion.), more games already out, and it's cheaper per game. The pricedrag ($300-$400) is not very nice, but compair it to the PS3 and it's a bargain! Or if your into arcade games, you can always get those off-live, and you can get game videos, game demos, game extra's, all of which you can't get on the PS3 (Im sure they will get around to it someday though.) Top that off with the fact that it can play regular DVD's unlike it's counterpart, and you've got yourself worthwhile package. Many people are mistaken about what the think the PS3 can do currently, because they have been spoiled by the Xbox 360, and they have heard all of the Sony hype. Did you know that the PS2 has sold more copies that the PS3 since the PS3 has been out? For a final point, think about GoW & Halo 3 too. Does PS3 have those, of course not! Does PS3 have a better live than the Xbox 360 Of Course Not! Is it true that the PS3 will have more exlusives than the 360 of course not! Is it true that you could buy a Xbox 360 & a Wii for the price of a PS3? Yep  . So after all of that, I would have to tell everyone, that currently, my favorite system of the 3 would have to be the Wii. Leave it to Nintendo to come up with a completely different way to game, and get off your couch while your at it. Plus it's about 1/3 of the cost of a 360, and about 1/2 of the cost of a 360. :P Ok, first of off it's called "Blu-Ray" not blue-ray. Yeah the 360 might have more games, it's been out for a while now. The PS3 has been out for a couple months now. As for the movies Blu-Ray has 160 movies currently out and HD-DVD has 164. (As of Feb 6th) I don't see how that is 10x more movies then the HD-DVD. In matter of fact, next week Blu-Ray will pass HD-DVD in movies that are out. You say you can't get Arcade Games, Games, or Games Extras online for the PS3, well your wrong once again. You can at the Playstation Store. Oh yeah, the PS3 is a DVD player too, I dunno where you found out that it doesn't play SD DVD but your a bit off there. "Is it true that you could buy a Xbox 360 & a Wii for the price of a PS3? Yep" X-box 360 = $300 (Core System) Wii = $250 That's 550. You still have $50 left over.

February 7, 200719 yr Geeeeez, Blue107 still arguing in favor of the Sony PaperWeight 3? Blue, you lost already. You were the one here screaming about how the PS3 was going to outsell the 360 and the Wii on release. So far they haven't even made enough consoles. Even if they did, they wouldn't sell out. My local wal-mart still have the first-batch of PS3's they shipped sitting on the shelves. It's just too expensive for a console. They should have left the Blu-ray out. And your analogy is horrible. You just made the 360 into an NES and the PS3 into a, well, a PS3, in comparison. Obviously they PS3 would be better then. But here's the reality: When the PS3 was reviewed and compared to the 360, most games ran and looked better on the 360. Ohhhh snap. And since it is a GAME CONSOLE, not a movie player, that obviously really matters. Of course the PS3 is better for watching movies...Because they added stuff to watch movies with. The 360 concentrated more on gaming, as it should be. The Wii isn't just an after-thought like you claim. It's SO obvious that you're a Sony fanboy. That's EXACTLY what Sony's CEO said. That the Wii was just a novelty item that was worthless. I agree, the games for it that are out and good are slim, and the ones listed to come out aren't looking too boss right now either, but it's only just starting...You kinda' have to wait. And why didn't you touch on the PS3's lack of titles? They have the same amount of good exclusive titles the Wii has. Like 2 or 3. 360 wins, just as I told you it would months ago. I also told you Wii would come in second with PS3 in a distant third. Oh dear...How much does it suck to be right!? The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past. - Me!
February 7, 200719 yr I'll admit that a few months ago all of my knowledge on the subject was sketchy, but I've learned quite a bit.I myself now own a PS3, Wii and 360 ( had a 360 for quite some time.) Since the last time I have argued with anyone I have learned much and talked to many. With the risk of sounding self-centered, I now know this topic better than anyone who has presented an argument on this forum recently. I have discussed it with many more people, not a single point I have brought up so far has been wrong, which is why you attack my old post and not my current. I dont know why I still bother on this forum. I guess I am just addicted to its blind ignorance. "OMG U A FANBOI U BUY 600 CONSOLE THAT SUXX0RZ". Did you ever consider that I might of been able to afford it with relative ease? it might not have any use to a gamer like you but it has a lot to a gamer like me, and its good at satisfying my needs. You know what the best part about being a Sony fanboy is? I didnt even consider touching the PS3 with its original boomerang design. Thats actually why I have the 360 485th person to ever play RuneScapeBlue107- perm banned 10/12/2007. $300 USD reward if you can get me in contact with someone who will take 5 seconds to look at evidence and get my original character unbanned.
February 7, 200719 yr I don't even get it, why be a 'fanboy'? Here is my theory, simple and to the point. 1. Person A is 13 years old and gets a PS3/Wii/XB for a birthday present. 2. Since that's all he's going to play for the next few years, he'll defend it with his last breath and drop of blood. You don't buy a console because it's certain brand. You buy it because it's entertaining. The Wii and PS3 don't currently have a good selection of games (only a few good ones), the Xb360 beats them in that area. But the Wii, as time will probably show, will be the most entertaining and innovative console because of it's new approach to controllers, and gaming in general. The PS3 is a grand loser in the war. Why? A. It doesn't have many good games B. It costs more than the 2 other consoles combined C. It has a standard gaming approach similar to the PS2 with only improved graphics, unlike the Wii In the current situation, depending on what type of games you like, Xb/Wii are the best consoles. XBox: 2 points +Has already some good games +Fairly cheap Wii: 2 points -Not many good games yet +Completely unique gaming approach +Fairly cheap PS3: 1 point -Not many games yet +Good graphics -Very expensive
February 8, 200719 yr The PS3 just came out, of course theres not going to have a huge title list. It happens with all systems.
