Help with a ranger...

My long time RL m8 asked me if I had any rs2 pkers. I said no, asking him why. He told me he wanted to pk with me on rs2, and that he had a ranger (1 att, def, str) that's 65 ranged. He wants me to match it, so we can pk it up with the same stats.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Anywho, I spent a couple mins, made a quick 600k, bought heaps of bolts to train with, bronze-steel arrows. After 1 day, i got 33 ranged, but it's going pretty slow.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I got p2p on my account, so my question is, what's the best places to train ranged and at what levels?

I mostly range at the varrock guards in the upper floor of varrock castle, there are fences where you can stand behind and enough guards ;)

but do you think at level 33 I will be able to inflict enough damage on them to make it fast exp?

gnome battle field till lv 40 - thats what i did took me a few hours lol just south west of ardougne

What about ranging attire? What kind of stuff can I buy to increase my ranging bonus.. pricing... etc

With 1 def you can use dragonhide chaps and vambraces. (green is 5-6k, blue 15k and red and black 25k per "pure set").

 

 

 

Good and cheap armour is:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Coif - (100-500gp)

 

 

 

soft leather body - (100-200 gp)

 

 

 

power/glory ammy - (8-10k/50-60k)

 

 

 

best dragonhide chaps and vambraces - (5-25k)

 

 

 

Normal cape/wildy cape - (50 gp)

 

 

 

boots of lightness - (free, need to have started temple of ikov quest, no requirments to start it)

 

 

 

No ring/ring of life (4-5k)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

You could also use some other items with 1 def. But they are really expensive.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Robin hood hat - (4-4.3 mil)

 

 

 

Ranger boots - (around 2 mil)

If you have p2p, you should go to pest control after you hit 50+.

 

 

 

I trained my pure from 55 to 70 there in one week. Faast ;) If you're not member, you should shoot hobgoblins at the crafting guild.

Do you know where the Barbarian Village is? I can't get a picture now... west of Varrock and south of Edgeville. Use the handy world map in the game screen.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Stronghold of Security is in the center of the Village, shown by an exclamation point on the map. Just find the hole in the ground, surrounded by coal and tin rocks. Explore through it, but don't go too far - there's some dangerous stuff, especially for a pure with 1 defense.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Try killing minotaurs - they're on the first floor you arrive on. You'll figure the place out easy enough, as long as you're not a half-wit.

10-40, Minotaurs are good for up to 40 and you can end up with alot of arrows. Always stay with iron arrows

 

 

 

40-60, now I can't really remember this portion, Guards would do well here

 

 

 

60-75, Moss Giants are your best bet here

 

 

 

75+ Lesser demons

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

P2P version

 

 

 

1-10 cows or chickens

 

 

 

10-40, minotuars are excellent here

 

 

 

40-60 experiments or rock crabs here

 

 

 

60-70, Personally I pced here, however Ogres in King Lathus training camp are excellent exp

 

 

 

70+, Fire Giants in waterfall are excellent exp here or if you have 65+ slayer and have got to smokey well part in DT, Dust Devils are the way to go as they are not as crowded as Fire Giants

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I reccommed using iron arrows or iron knives for rock crabs. 80 range and I still use iron arrows, inexpensive and fairly good due to more accuracy than Bronze. They can be bought on fourms for 25gp each, its the average price I've seen.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Stronghold of Security is marked by a ! in Barbarian Village, you'll see a rock with a big hole in it, climb down there.

If i was u i would probably go training on minatours in stronghold of security start with the lvl 12 ones then once u have like 50 range move onto the lvl 27 ones thats what i do i have a pure ranger with45 range another reason y u should do this is because minatours drop iron arrows so all u need to start out with is like 100 iron arrows and by the time u have 65 range u will have more than 1k iron arrows probably oh and 1 more thing make sure u always use rapid it fires faster and i think it hits just fine ok 1 more reason u should range the minatours is because there are barricades that minatours cant get past

40-50 on minotaurs. (collect arrows)

 

 

 

50-60 lessers.
