February 12, 200719 yr Just a note of interest for anyone who has reached level 99 in any skill. The experience indicator states that next level is at 14391160 experience (level 100 you would assume). However, if you exceed this, the level still says that same number (see picture). edit: I know this has been around for a while, but I've never really seen anyone discuss it Does this mean that Jagex have plans for increasing the maximum since it seems that some of the coding is already in place. They have accurately projected the level required for level 100. Yet, they haven't adjusted this so that when you exceed it, the next potential level is not shown. So who thinks Jagex will increase maximum levels? Who thinks it's a good idea? Who thinks it's a bad idea?
February 12, 200719 yr I think it's a good idea, but that has been around for ages. Proud member of The Slayer's Guild
February 12, 200719 yr That experience has been there since RSC, so it's nothing new. The level-ups have some odd formula, but a very accurate estimate is doubled xp = seven levels. Orccu------Combat 122Thieving 99Skill Total 1925
February 12, 200719 yr It's just the way JAGeX have coded it. Rather than saying "level 2 = 83xp", they've put in a code. After me, there shall be no more, so for one last time, make some noise.
February 12, 200719 yr Then people with 200M exp would have like level 200Nah. Somewhere in the 125-129 range is expected, depending on how closely the emulating formula is to Jagex's true formula. 126 is very probable, considering that it's also the current maximum combat level.
February 13, 200719 yr This has been around for awhile.... Still interesting that once you pass it, the exp doesn't increase...
February 13, 200719 yr new max level 1000 ...boy i'd hate to see that in wildy :ohnoes: but i havn't got a 99 so i cant help any DoD:S ownagewhat we have here is a ..um.. failur to communcate check out my steam ID page @ alpha company
February 13, 200719 yr Jagex will never exceed the maximum level of 99. I'm not going to dive into my whole knowledge of game programming and the Java Game System here so I'll try to keep it simple: The level system of Runescape is based on a 2-digit system. For Jagex to raise the maximum skill level cap to a 3-digit system (for example, level 100 and beyond in a skill), they would have to stat-wipe every single account and set all your stats back to level 1. Expecting a good life because you're a good person is like expecting a bull not to charge because you're a vegetarian.
February 13, 200719 yr While I don't understand Oreo's reasons, I don't believe Jagex would do this. And hi Oreo Project Onyx Staff Writer. Stories, articles, and opinions, oh my!
February 13, 200719 yr oreo - asfaik as a java programmer, int, double, short, long, float, all these allow for more than 2 'digits' - after all it's based on bytes secondly, if you were right they could easily add new code to increase it, e.g. 1-99 level = 0; xp = 0; if level = 99 level2 = 0; xp = 14m; display(level1+level2). perhaps the only thing that does hold them back is their database. years ago the maximum per stack was 65535, that's a significant number in the database world (google it) and it's a possibility they may have a proprietary database that can't be easily expanded upon. just my thought rsn:serious punk
February 13, 200719 yr Well thats also a thought, but still back to my original point. Don't count on the level cap passing 99. Expecting a good life because you're a good person is like expecting a bull not to charge because you're a vegetarian.
February 13, 200719 yr Yeah I definitely agree with you there. Now that 99 gets skill capes, it looks likes 99 is the end. Maybe come rs3, we'll see level 100 but uhh not soon. rsn:serious punk
February 13, 200719 yr Maybe come rs3, we'll see level 100 but uhh not soon. RS3?? Lol. Do you haove any idea how much stuff they have put in RS2? It would take them at least 5 or 6 years.
