"dead" merchating markets

Rares. But they're falling in price. They used to have inelastic demand (as price went up, demand stayed the same), but due to the skill capes and lack of desire for people to want rares, the demand dropped, and excess supply was created- which made the demand elastic (price went up, demand hugely fell) which forced the price down...

Whats worse is, there are no predicitions for it to substantially rise either...

Construction has definitey died out as a marker. The people who could afford it have got the level they want, whats left is just the odd merchant, and maybe a lucky third person reward winner, who fancies 99 con. Nothing big....

However, this is more of a discussion.

I'll ask a Mod to move it for you, if they feel it doesn't belong here.

its just that every1 said merchanting was easy money, every1 wanted to merch, kinda like supply and demand

too many merchants, not enough normal buyers, thus, market dies

Since 80% of the merchants are noobs that donot know how to keep the price steady

one minute its selling for 1.2 d[], then someone starts to sell for 1.15, and instantly they follow.

99 Fletching 99 Attack 99 Constitution 99 Cooking 99 Strength

Use to merchant regular essence and sell to members on forums but with the new P ess and the fact that i wasnt a mem then. That died out fast as well. :( But there are always ways to make money.

Its the excess demand being eaten up, and stupid merchants still trying to sell, which makes the excess supply.

This is why the prices slowly fall down. Look at Yews.

With new capes they cost 310ea, then merchants wanted more, so they try push it to 320 each... So, in come the 'rich' players, then get 99 fletching, and these goes the demand for yews at a high price.

Then the Merchants are left with 000 000's of yews, and no-one paying 320each... The price then goes to 300ea, then 290, then 280... This is exactly the same for bowstrings aswell.
