I agree (Watches post count go up 1) Actually, if you don't like the whip spec and think the dds is better... then just don't buy a whip and stay with the dds... I myself prefer a dragon scimitar.

A ddp++ has a better special and is available at 1/30th of the cost. yes... and a abby whip doubles a ddp's stats doesnt it? Lets see... 30 times the cost of the ddp++ 2 times the stats of the ddp++ stats =D> Somewhere along the line I think it's a little uneven. Could be just me though :wall: a bronze skimmy is only 5x worse then a dds....costs 50x less. Go fetch one

February 18, 200719 yr I can not belive all of you complaing about how the whip is dumb and is to over priced. If i recall when i first became a member about a year ago the whip was somewhere around 4m. Now it has plummeted to a extremly low 1.7m. I dont know about you but 1.7m is not expensive at all for the best weapon in the game. If the prices keep declining at this rate the whip will only be worth like 800k in 5 months.

February 18, 200719 yr The whip special also has slightly increased accuracy, although it is still inferior to something like a mace or dagger, it does have some effect. Currently subsisting off of God Wars: 3 shards, 1 bandos hilt, 2 sara swords, 1 steam staff, and 2 zamorak spears.
February 18, 200719 yr what about g maul? it's about 80k, pretty good stats, and better spec than whip, but its downside is the 2-handed thing

I rest my case.

Could be just me though :wall: if you continues to think like that, then remember, a bronze dagger costs 1gp, and a dds costs 50 000gp, is really a dds 50 000 times better than a bronze dagger? and even then, beeng un-armed is even better, seeng that even a bronze dagger is infinte times the worth of no weapon at real, it is like this, the price for an item is not only after how the stats are compared, but by supply and demand, as whip is a semi-rare item, the sellers don't want to sell it cheap, and as it's the best non-degrading weapon in the game, people want to pay that much for it too

February 19, 200719 yr See, this is the kind of whining that's forcing Jagex to make the game easier.In a way it is, but the only reason the whip spec is so crap atm is couse the other whiners hated getting killed with it in the wild, when it came out the whip had the second best spec in rs.

February 19, 200719 yr Duh? What's the point of this thread? to discuss about the whips special....and forums are for discussing not for hunting great topics you find intriging. jagex nerfed the special because it was doing so much impact on the CB triangle, or thats my theory. :-k

Use the special of a different weapon when fighting monsters, or anything for that matter. I think that might be the reason the whip has a mostly pointless special. It encourages people to think more than just "spec, spec, attack, kill" For PVP, use DDS spec, then once out of specs, attack with whip. Requires slightly more thought, and a bit more risk. For training (I love this tactic) use Dragon Battleaxe special, restore potion, then switch to whip. Higher hits, makes training faster. The whip having a bad special seems to be a good thing; makes you think a bit more about how to fight/train. Just my thoughts. If you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.
