eleven2099
You might think how good is mining gold in Crafting Guild on f2p World. That's what this report talk about. The Flow I. Route/Method II. Conclusion III. Proof IV. Extra Thinking ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I. Route/Method How much time to Spend? 68 minutes What skill(s) is required? 40 Crafting ==> To enter Crafting Guild 60+ Mining ==> To mine Gold Ore confidently (70+ is an advantage) 37 Magic ==> To cast Falador Teleport 50+ Agility (optional) ==> To run all the way What to bring? 10 Law Runes, 10 Water Runes, 30 Air Runes or 1 Staff of Air ==> To teleport to Falador Brown Apron ==> To enter Crafting Guild Rune Pickaxe ==> To mine ore What is the route? 1. Start at Falador East Bank, take all the stuff above. 2. Run to Craft Guild 3. Mine 25 Gold ore 4. Teleport back to Falador 5. Walk/Run to Bank (keep 50% energy) 6. Repeat 10 times ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- II. Conclusion  To save your time, I will make conclusion first :) By using the method as mentioned, you will recieve the following benefit Per Hour: Gold Ore: 210 - 220 Mining Exp.: 13,650 - 14,300 (*65xp per ore) Sales Income: 94.5k - 99k gp (*450 per ore) Cost: 4.5k gp (cost of Teleport Rune) Net Profit: 90k ~94.5k gp per Hour Net Exp: 14k Mining Exp per Hour ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- III. Proof For those ppl who are curious, here's the details and proof I test on Full World, Gold Ore respawn rate is 1 minutes, There're 7 Gold Ore in that place. Mining Lvl is 79, Agility Lvl is 60. I test twice, first time cost 67 minutes and 37 seconds, second time cost 68 minutes 20 seconds, So every tour (10 times) cost about 68 minutes. I mined 240 gold ore per tour (why not 250? for some reason I only have 24 free space) Every hour, I mined 240*(60/68) = 212 gold ore. By considering all the factors, 210 - 220 is a reasonable range. -------------------------------------------- The price of gold ore is 400 - 500 each currently. Since gold ore is the best way of smithing training on member world, and smithing is one of the most popular skills, I expect the demand will increase constantly. On the other hand, not many ppl are selling gold ore. Thus, 450 each is reasonable, I have even seen much higher offer. -------------------------------------------- The cost of rune is only a small part comparing to the sales of gold ore. I assume law is 400 each, water and air is 20 each, Total cost = 400 x 10 + 20 x 10 + 20 x 30 = 4,800 gp. Every Hour the cost = 4,800 gp * (60/68) = 4235 gp, lets say it is 4.5k gp per hour, it is still small. -------------------------------------------- The only threat is competition from other players. But I found on some certain times, the place is not as crowd as you might think. Plus, if you have decent mining lvl comparing to your competitors, the method still works. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IV. Extra Thinking Since I was doing these all by myself, the gold ore field is not fully used. (the respawn rate is very fastest) So I was thinking the combination of a miner and a runner. As mentioned before, Gold ore respawn every 1 minutes, there're 7 Gold ore. In most optimal situation, The miner can mine 7 Gold ore per minutes, 420 per hour. When the miner is fully loaded, he can pass the ore to the runner. Runner run to bank and run back again. Every hour the Miner recieve the following benefit: 420 x 65 exp = 27.3 k exp per hour 420 x 450 x 0.5 = 94.5k gp per hour (If the two ppl decide to divide profit equally) Every hour the Runner recieve the following benefit: 420 x 450 x 0.5 = 94.5k gp per hour (the salary of running) I would say the benefit looks good! Doesn't it? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THE END 18 Feb 2007
Captainkidd
Good guide, you mite want to add a part for members that theres a short cut form the fally bank to the crafting guild that saves ALOT of walking.
Platinum_Myr
This is a good guide :) Although you don't mention the members shortcut, I figure that its BETTER to mine in a f2p world anyway, because they will be less crowded here, and generally faster, especially if you teleport. It's usually more crowded on f2p worlds since this is one of the better gold mining spots in f2p :?
kdb148
It's the only good gold mining spot in f2p. One thing I did to add in a little profit is to stop by the air altar and craft air runes on my walk to the crafting guild. It only adds a few seconds to each trip, and since you need to have airs with you anyway, there's no reason not to. You can craft 250 essences in 10 runs this way. It will add another 10-20k per hour in profit, depending on your runecrafting level. Check out this cool browser gladiator game!
jwrm22
f2pers will mine slower... > no agility > shorter run... :( and you are p2p... why not mmake a p2p guide? there are mutch better spots... :anxious: ^^ click my sig for my lesser ranging guide ^^jwrm22: 4816th > 99 cooking 100% f2p !1172 total! + 140mil in items.i dont play anymore... i think rs is ruined

sirhc
Good guide! I mined gold from lvl 45-60 mining. (Now I see it wasn't the best way to get my mining up for the guild...) I recently went to the crafting guild to grab a load of gold for making some stuff. It was painstakingly slow even then. I don't know how i did it for over 150k exp but at least i was making money in the process! :D
Syd
This is ok guide, seen better though. : And goldmining isn't very fast way to make money, in my opinion. I would chose runecrafting instead. :)
magicmagicy
Good guide, but you forgot one important factor. There are A LOT of autoers in the crafting guild. You will rarely find a F2P world without one, even if you do, the autoer is probably banking and will come back very soon.
