"I'm leaving TIF" Sticky.

Recommended Posts

I think that a sticky should be introduced into the main forums not related to RuneScape or ArenaScape.

On the first page alone, there are three topics - that's four people (two in one thread) - announcing their departure on the Off-Topic forum. I don't know about you, but I find it irritating, I go to the Off-Topic forum to discuss things, not look at posts saying that someone is leaving. I don't think that those leaving should have to toddle off and let no one know but I think there must be a better way of letting people know. It's been done for the RuneScapers, so why not give the other users the same thing?

Does anyone else agree with me and if they do, have you have any suggestions to fix this problem?

Ah but if a respected member of TIF were to leave and announce it using a thread rather than the hypothetical sticky, it would give other people (who, lets face it, people might not know or even care about) the idea that they should post a thread to let others know they're leaving. It should be the same rules for everyone, regardless of how much they are respected. I concede, however that since there have only been four threads of this nature, it is a little early in the day to introduce a sticky.

The problem arises with the fact that EVERYONE that posts a leaving thread does it because they think they are notable enough.

What annoys me is that half of them return after a couple of weeks then they make another post annoucein their reutrn. No one really cares when they leave and even less care when they return.

But I agree we do not need a sticky.

I don't think we need a sticky. Certain kinds of threads tend to appear in "clumps" together. Like 2-5 will be floating around for a few days/weeks, then they disappear all together for a while. If we had a sticky, I really think it'd be pretty pointless due to inactivity. From what I've personally observed, the Off Topic forum is a pretty close group of people, and as long as these threads don't suddenly swamp the forum, I think they can handle having their own "leaving TIF" threads.

I agree with tripsis in this.

The sticky isn't that necessary, and i think TIF has enough stickies so far?

I dont think we want TIF made from stickies?

I agree with that.

Most of the "i quit" topics are mostly people posting who wants some attention.

And if there was "i quit" sticky, then people would want "HEEY, I'M BACK :D" sticky as well, for those people who couldn't stand quitting.

And then again, we would be having this same conversation for second time, about the same thing..

So nah, i dont think that sticky would be necessary
