Graphics are important too. Admit it. Although I completely disagree with the fanboys who claim 'z0mg, teh ps3 gr4f1x p00n teh w11 so j00 sh\/d buy th4tzors'. They are idiots, and should be treated with great caution, perhaps even with protective gloves.

Well then, you must also admit that the PS3 is an amazing console, same as the Wii. The only reason people bash it so much is for the price and for the lack of good games. Both of those, it seems, will be fixed by next year. So no more "T3h P53 suckz0rz cuz 1ts 600 do114rz0rz and n0 g00d g4m3s." Sony's planning a price cut, and look at the games: MGS4, FFXIII, FF Versus XIII, and many more. I love the Wii, but I wouldn't ever choose one over the other.

Anyways, the most important aspects of a game to me are gameplay, the music throughout the game, graphics, originallity (to some extent), and replayability. Also, minigames and secrets in an adventure/RPG game make a game a whole lot better. Best example is chocobos in FFVII and FFIX \' .

Agreed. Graphics do mean something.

anyways, I enjoy a good blend. A game needs everything (gameplay, graphics, story, sound, ect.) to be a truely great experience.

I love a game with a plot that keeps me guessing, and is interesting of course. The Jak series for example 8-) .

If the one player isn't great, good graphics, basic gameplay, and multiplayer (especially online) can easily make up for that :) .

[if you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or

by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.]

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

To me they only mean so much as to what they bring to the game, more realism doesn't necessarily mean a better game.

Some of the best graphics IMO are in games like Super Mario World, Super Metroid and Planescape: Torment. None of which has realism as the main goal of their graphics engine.

Realism, which is the thing most new games revolve around is nothing without feeling.

Gameplay, storyline, good graphics and music. That's what makes me come back to a game.

And ofcourse, since I played WoW for like 8 hours a day for a year, I have to say that some sense of Multiplayer event in a good package makes me want to come back again and again, so add that, too and you have a good game.

Nowadays I prefer my games without that, though, since I don't want to spend 8hours a day in front of the comp playing games ;)

i have to do nothing of the sort. Sure, the ps3 has good graphics, but its a rubbish console (at least at the launch). It has little to no good launch games, very little 3rd party support and is grossly overpriced.

I completly agree. To me graphics != high tech engine. Yeah having an incredibly realistic game can look great in the right setting, but sometimes the art direction is so much better, even if the actual engine is aging. (for example, WoW. Dated graphics engine but game looks amazing, especialy in the outlands).
